FINALLY, SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME!!! Sorry for the All-Caps but I have been saying this for years and no one seemed to agree with me. Queen fans don't even seem to care that Paul was man Freddie said he would love to stand-in for him. Freddie was a huge Paul Rodgers fan and said he had one of the most distinctive voices of all time. Freddie and Paul were friends. Most Queen fans do not know that.

I know this is probably the way that Brian and Roger wanted it done but Paul could have sung the entire song and this is the way they went. Paul always said, his goal was to be Paul Rodgers with Queen, not to try to be the next Freddie or imitate Freddie

True and fun fact: Freddie and Paul were friends and Freddie was actually a fan of Pauls. he said many times that Paul had a voice that could not be duplicated, and that he would choose Paul to lead Queen when he died. So, the band honored his wish.

When I met Paul, I asked him, 'how on earth did you ever think that you could take Freddie's place with Queen?' He said to me that he was singing Queen songs as Paul Rodgers and nothing more. He was a good friend of the band too and I know that Freddie admired his lower range!
