Hi Everyone, Hope your all having some great beekeeping experiences this year!
first of all please excuse the poor camera angles in the first part of the video!
Its all about the preparation. So important to keep on top of your cleaning and keeping those lingering bee diseases at bay through at least reasonable hygiene.

Personally, The biggest pain about Sterilising nuc boxes is finding something heavy enough to weigh them down while there soaking.

Howdy Richard. Just getting started on this video but what is the reason for the bottom screens in the nuc boxes to be offset like yours appear to be?

Hi Randy, yes their 6 frames HD (High Density Poly nucs made by STEHR, a German company and quite standard here. I am not sure why they have "off set" the bottom vents but i believe they think that its easier to circulate air if its on one side. but they do ok and stand up pretty well when the bees are shut in, even on a hot day. other than that brother, i cant tell you more lol Best wishes brother!

I had afb last year! And spread it by transferring frames before I identified it and had to burn 9 colonies 😢

@richardnoel3141 I think it was the other person that sounded a bit like that. I genuinely thought it was a good idea. I've always tried to repurpose what I can...thought becoming a horder 🤣. Thanks for your films. Where abouts in France are you ?

I don't have a fall flow. Should I make splits and queens now or wait until Spring?
@richardnoel3141
@richardnoel3141 Ай бұрын
@@unclebobsbees4899 hi, it depends firstly if you need/want to? And how strong your existing colonies are if you want to Make nucs you just need to be prepared to feed. There is still plenty of time.to split within the next month
