That coat... she still wore it, even brought it at the university, and slept while wearing it after her mother died. I thought it was really sweet. I once believed she never cared for her stepmom but I was wrong.

I feel that the choice of the piano in the story was a deliberate one. The piano's key are black and white, like the squares on a chess board. It's the only instrument that parallels the game.

I thought the music was good, as the tune seemed repetitive and stuck and sad, which was how Alma must have felt in the beginning of the series. The song only seemed to deviate a bit when she told Beth that she dreamed of being an orchestra performer, but that new tune began to repeat itself when she told her that she then got pregnant. It symbolised her dream being taken from her, leaving her stuck with a husband who doesn't appreciate her. Just my two cents.

When you think that Erik Satie was kicked out of the Paris Conservatoire in 1885 because his teachers did not believe in his talent...
@harami44-n5kАй бұрын
Erik Satie did not have a talent which was considered at that time, but he had the talent of not having a talent, he broke all rules of music with the Gymnopedie, it had no repeating melody which was the convention from the times of Bach upto his time, he changed it, that is talent, now, we don't know his teacher's name but we know his name.

i was playing this song called “Amore” - by Arto Lindsay and others which i had discovered this week on instagram and so last night, as i fell asleep, I had apple music autoplay on (the infinity button next to shuffle) and it continued playing throughout the night on my speaker and and when this song came up it woke me up (before my alarm which is quite the honourable haha) as my memory must have been triggered and i listened to it and fell asleep again and well I did not know it’s official name at the time (Gnossiennes #1 - Erik Satie) I was convinced I had to have heard it in Schindlers List and well long story short after a 20 minute hunt I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I heard it in the Queens Gambit haha so now i am definitely going to have to watch it again.
