Queen's Platinum Jubilee: Pageant celebrates Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne | FULL

Festivities celebrating Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne wrapped up on Sunday with the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, which tells the story of her reign in four parts.
The pageant opened with a military spectacle, honouring the U.K. armed forces from across the Commonwealth, including Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Ghana and Belize among others. A hologram of the queen during her coronation in 1953 was also broadcast on the windows of the Gold State Coach, waving to the crowds as the carriage went by.
The pageant then showcased British life and spirit since 1952, when she acceded to the throne following her father's death.
According to the program for the event, the third act harnessed "creativity, ingenuity, humour and community spirit," and will include the "very best" of Carnival, May Day, Mela, Fiesta and Mardi Gras to celebrate the Queen's life experience.
The procession then ended at the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace. The monarch surprised attendees by walking out onto the balcony of the palace with members of her family to wave at the crowds.

I remember, as a youngster, seeing the pictures in the Sunday supplement of the paper of Queen Elizabeth in her golden coach for her coronation. It was all so magical. Seemed like a fairy tale. And what a great proud 1500 year tradition We have had 61 monarchs of England and Britain spread over approximately 1200 years. It works for us, I can’t see a better alternative its fine the way it is I know you say the hangers on but this all comes with the package, the average tax per year to the royal family is approximately £2.50 per head per population not much when you put it in them terms for our heritage, when they generate nearly £700 m per year. For all those questioning the golden coach & the image of the young 26 year old Queen waving, it was a hologram of an image of the Queen after her coronation because it was a reenactment of her leaving her coronation in the Golden coach. Let alone do they mention the likes of the West Africa Squadron - considered the most costly moral action in modern history - where over 1600 British sailors died liberating over a quarter of a million slaves from slave ships in West Africa. They then helped them to start new lives in what is today Sierra Leone. The history of the world and of your own country is a natural interest that evokes wonderful nostalgia. When you are older you too will probably look back upon your memories with your family in a world that was so very different. I miss that part of my life but guess what - my king (King George VIth ) and Her Majesty - then Princess Elizabeth were a BIG part of being BRITISH of which I am very proud. I am also a Geordie from George Washingtons ancestral home town. Old yes, but certainly not obsolete - just as Arny said. We still feel you know - old people are not junk to shove on the scrap pile - maybe you could learn a thing or two from them - if you care to listen. I will never forget during our grade 7 Current Affairs class when the talk was all about a new 🇨🇦 tv station that was about to join CBC, CBOT, TVO, & CTV-- it was called Global. Louis also behaved very well. Especially for a 6 year old. He looked to be delighted by it all. Nobody could have been disappointed by that. Where did Louis go?

People with all diana grudges ., i wasnt there but there is always 2 sides of story.. you shouldnt judge this woman and all she has done to make britain and all her countries better than many in the world.. she served till her last day.. she kept her promise.. she maintained peace in the world.. she was a mother.. a wife.. a daughter .. a sister .. a queen of 1/3 of the worlds population andshe controlled the situation for 70 yrs .. she gave up her dreams at 26.. come on people how ungrateful and unjust you are.. come to africa see what leaders do in just one term of 5 yrs., then you will appreciate of what a better world this mother did for all of you.. i love her just the person she was.. the most amazing and selfless woman of the century.. show me a perfect human before you judge her!
