New Zealanders were surprised by Harry’s attempt to appropriate Māori culture to advertise his Travelist company .To begin with New Zealand is multicultural with many different tourist ventures .Also Māori are a culture which respect and embrace family . They take responsibility for their elders ,care for them and in many instances live with many generations in their homes A far cry from Harry who has ditched his brother,father,grandparents,uncles ,aunts ,cousin as well as his in-laws. One wonders if his PR people are out to destroy what little credibility he has. Added to this gross attempt to use another culture ,the cringe worthy piece wasn’t even shot in New Zealand.

I appropriated Italian culture just yesterday when I made a pasta sauce while listening to La Traviata. Today I am thinking of showing significant indifference to the proud history of both the Balinese, Indian and French cultures simultaneously by drinking a bottle of Burgundy whilst wearing a sorong on my verandah. As a beneficiary of colonialism, I often find myself pondering which cultural attributes I should always appropriate on a daily basis and quite frankly it often cases me to stop and reflect on my actions and ingrained attitudes. While I try to do the proper thing and appropriate the cultures of peoples who had been unambiguously colonised in the past, I find I lack the discipline required and frequently find myself appropriating the traditions of the Italians, French and other Europeans more frequently than I care to admit. I once wore a kilt, but I was able to console myself with the knowledge that the Scots were indeed colonised. Of course, I have long been appropriating American culture in almost every way I can think of - except when it comes to food, not that silly - and have even played the blues (where did guitars originate from? Africa?) Anyway its not as easy as you think, and while I understand your concern that Harry's appropriation of Maori culture was a bit shoddy, I have some sympathy for him, cause I tried to think of a culture which hates its grandparents and abhors families to appropriate and its not as easy as you think. The best I could come up with is one in which families made ridiculously wealthy by doing more than just appropriating other peoples traditions, but by basically owning them and their lands engage in what seems an endless and vile, often racist campaign to discredit, even destroy, one of their own via their well oiled propaganda apparatus. Perhaps they're angry at him for the cultural crime of marrying someone he should properly only have appropriated. In what culture do grandmas, brothers, fathers, criminal uncles who live off the hard work of others and contribute only to themselves deserve respect?

They called the UK racist, sneaked into the country, and ignored the people, and now they want to be part of a prestige event in the UK, what nerve. They don't even deserve to be admitted into the country. The Jubilee is a celebration of a monarch who has served the people, it's not a family gathering event. Harry and Meghan had Mother's Day in March and the Queen's birthday in April to make their family gathering. I was there was decisive bold action regarding Harry & Meghan. I’m livid at the recent rumours. I was if the understanding that they would be staying within the Royal grounds for this visit, in order to be protected by the Royal protection. Considering Harry has claimed his security is not sufficient in the UK and is currently taking the government to court on this matter. I’ve now heard they will be out and about, most likely filming for more personal PR. Is it true that the security provided for them to do this will be paid for by the British people? I heard a while ago there may be a temporary arrangement so they are able to visit during the Queen’s Jubilee year, but I didn’t realise that arrangement would also cover them going about their own activity. I’m fuming if this is the case. When is this going to stop. I understand the Roysls cannot control what H&M do outside of the Royal grounds, but it is NOT for us to provide their security, at a time when all the security we have should be protecting the Queen, our working Royal Family members, the Jubilee events and British people.

It’s going to be working royals only plus some children. Hazmat and Megraine are not working Royals (only for themselves and not for the people or the country) so therefore no balcony appearance. I don’t want to see Harry and Meghan on TV, they must be kept behind the scenes BUT SADLY It’s looking like they will be paraded in front of us 😠 its appalling!!! H&M have not apologised for their lies and for casting shade on the Royals; nor for doing most of this while Prince Philip was in his last month and in hospital causing him hurt he could have done without, he died knowing he was leaving his dear wife the Queen to deal with this hurt without him to help her; nor did they bother to attend Prince Philip’s memorial; Harry has a book coming out too which is likely to hurt Harry’s family; and they are not finished yet!! As such they are not worthy of being here for the Jubilee! Their presence will mean that H&M can merch it for all its worth and in their mind set will have them thinking the Queen endorses them and their behaviours!!! As for Travalyst it’s been set up by Harry and MAJOR PRIVATE TRAVEL COMPANIES all of whom will financially gain indirectly from this even though it is in itself a none profit making organisation!! Harry and Meghan are earning from their foundation too!! It’s morally wrong and Harry is taking advantage of a loop hole that aught to be closed to prevent such ventures under the guise of none profit making companies or charities! Harry and Meghan are morally reprehensible on so many levels and now we have to have them parading within the very family and nations they have hurt and damaged! I get that the Queen wants to show Christian love and forgiveness and wants to be the bigger person but these days that isn’t so understood, I’m afraid it will instead translate as her endorsement of her disgraceful grandson and his wife. There are already some who can’t see what H&M are doing wrong, but that’s only because they are not looking!!

I'm a Kiwi and the Travylst ad was a big surprise. Apparently the Maori channel was approached by Harry's people to get an interview. At first the channel thought it was someone was having a laugh. But when they agreed to the interview they were told to air what we saw. They kept their end of the bargain but no interview has been forthcoming. Moana, the person who was meant to have the interview, has said what happened and they tried to sort the interview and has heard nothing. Looks like she has been Markled

I saw a little blip this morning and I don’t believe that Harry or Megan will show up. Megan isn’t going to be on the balcony therefore going to Britain isn’t very necessary I her eyes. Secondly I’m hoping that the British people will honor the Queen and simply ignore Harry and Megan. Please keep focused on the Queen and her 70 years of service to the British people and the Commonwealth. I realize that it will be tempting to boo Harry and throw rotten eggs and tomatoes but please remember that there will be two innocent people with them. Please be adults and don’t do anything to scare or hurt those children. Turning your back to Harry and Megan will get your point across. Don’t lower yourself to Harry’s level.
