John comes across as perhaps the most human and down to earth in many ways. I think his retreat into 'obscurity' shows the most human reaction to fame, while Roger and Brian keep on flogging a dead horse (much though I like them)

I've been binge-watching all the Queen-related clips whether that's a music video, interview, or documentary after watching *the MOVIE!* In South Korea, the people who have been their lifelong fans and younger generation fans altogether are watching the movie multiple times and even singing along their famous songs in specially set theaters! I rarely watch the same film twice at a theater but *Bohemian Rhapsody* certainly has this incredible charm and power to move all generations!

Death is a disease of the living because the pain and loss impacts everyone and everything around us that we rely on for support. It's the one biological moment that is "each man for himself" everyone has lost, and trying to make sense of the loss first, as an individual, family, friends, community etc. As a nurse, I have come to appreciate how fragile and unprepared we are for each moment.

During this period Freddie Mercury was no longer giving interviews but the media were already speculating that he was seriously unwell. He only made 2 more public appearences. At the end of 1989 to pick up an award for best band of the 80s and February 1990 where his only comment said was thank you, goodnight.

vic berlin I believe the only interview that Freddy gay between 1987 and 1989 was on the radio and it wasn’t video. Really don’t blame him. He had lost some weight by 1990but wasn’t drastic when they were given the award for their contribution to British music in 1990. The press went crazy and people said that Freddy looked thinner, etc.. and he did somewhat. I don’t think at that point he had lost probably more than 10 or 15 pounds but he was only 5‘10“ and that would show quite a bit. Had he worn a coat with shoulder pads, it probably wouldn’t have looked the same because it was obvious he had not been working out due to having AIDS. That’s what I thought and I didn’t think anything about him having aids in 1990 and it wasn’t until he came out and said it that I threw up. I was really upset because my mom had lost a gay friend/colleague to AIDS. It’s dreadful and like cancer in a way. AIDS is a virus versus cancer being A pathological disease of tumor cells and masses growing out of control. I found out a couple weeks later after Freddie’s passing that I was also pregnant with my second child. That’s probably the second reason I threw up. Such a heartbreaking day for the world & Mercury’s Friends and family.

CJFerg81 Freddie had AIDS at this time for years already but was now physically showing it. His face was drawn and full of blemishes where makeup was needed in large amounts, his eyes were sunken in and his weight was horribly low. He looked like a skeketon already here and was wearing an extra set of shirt and pants under his clothing to look heavier. He certainly did not want to be seen close up on camera to the public...especially out in daylight. You can also see the bands emotional state. They are glum, calm, and reserved. No real true smiles at all. They knew what was coming. They knew Freddie had AIDS. Freddie had not yet told them, but they are not dumb people and saw his physical condition up close. They knew the deal. You can see and feel their suppressed mood. Brian almost looks like he is about to cry. Sad.

Queen is very inspirational, in all spheres of the creative music world, and I think, everybody... music prostitutes galore...ect... should be very attentive and considerate about all that is good and great about the legendary treasure that Freddy Mercury left behind for the world's gain in music... Brain May and Roger Taylor... please, become the little people in this stance, so that Queens GREATNESS can have that already... an impact like an eruption of a volcano...

John: it’s incredible that he always wanted just to be a member of Queen, not a “spokesperson” of any kind. He’s just as present and articulate as the others. Brian: you’ve got to respect what he says about the human element defining it, where the technology is in their hands, as opposed to the technology doing the work for them. I love to play synthesizers and vocoder, but I’m no fan of sequencers or autotune. Roger: what he says about how they used to fight all the time in the studio reflects on something which was stated by Freddie: in the early 80s, he commented that it was the fighting which kept them together. If that was the case, we’ve got that to thank for some pretty damned outstanding records!
