The Adelaide Central market is undergoing a $400 million redevelopment. When you visited two months ago they had already closed sections of it including the market arcade and international food court. I have visited both and the Queen Victoria is larger in terms of footprint and has a section setup as a flea market with vendors selling clothes, souvenirs and other random items. Adelaide central market is primarily a food and produce market.

Theres nothing American about the 'American Doughnuts', the name comes from the original owners buying the recipe off a German man in 1950s, but it wasnt the right time to sell 'German' anything so they hopped on the trendy post war americana name, even though youd only find this style of doughnuts in central europe originally

I love that you (and the wanderers!) use the old fashioned Aussie/English spelling of doughnut!! These days it seems to be replaced in most places by the Americanised version “donut”, which I find a little lazy- they are after all made of dough! ❤

I'm sure you have done more research than is shown in this video, but make sure that you really know what your plan is when you travel around the top part of Australia. Usually people travel by 4WD (SUV) up there, as opposed to a sedan, and it is wildly more...wild...than the places you have travelled before in AU. The nullarbor was remote, but largely just a long road. Northern Queensland, and the Northern Territory are legitimately jungle and bushland that you do not want to get into trouble in. And I'm sure that you know this, but crocodiles in the north are a real thing, not just a spooky story for tourists. If you visit any waterholes/rivers be aware that people die from crocodile attacks, and that they are an actual danger. Other than that, good luck!

cook kangaroo steak on high heat no more than medium rare or it will be tough due to no fat in the muscles, cut it against the grain. it's most similar to venison if you wanted something to compare it to. the tail has fat but it's usually cooked in the coals of a fire.

Over 1,000 suburbs and 200 ethnicities in Melbourne and I have had a Börek which, if I remember correctly was cuisine from Turkey. The donut jam is actually made from an apple sauce base. I have done multiple trips north to Queensland via the coastal route through Merimbula, Kiama, Sydney and Coffs Harbour to Queensland and inland a couple of different ways to Queensland but mostly through Dubbo and the Highlands of New England across to South Grafton on the coast, all totally different but just as interesting.

Honestly, 7 Eleven coffee isn't too bad and it gets the job done. It's no worse than I make at home and I drink my own coffees daily. It's not as good as a barista made coffee at one of our many cafes, but it's fine for when you're on the go. Australians need to remember we were all drinking Nescafe Blend 43 in the 80s and 90s - We've come along way, but we shouldn't become snobs.

Cooking roo is like cooking venison, because it's so lean. Seared in a very hot pan is often preferred, and cooked rare. You'll get away with medium rare if you have a descent cut, I used to even make roo kebabs. It can taste gamey, however I've had pieces that tasted like the best beef steak ever, and you could cut it with a butter knife. Other pieces turn to rubber. I think the problem is you can't choose the age and sex of the animal, or what cut, so it's a lottery.

With Kangaroo, go steak. You can find fillets in the supermarket. It’s a very lean cut of meat so medium rare with plenty of salt is the way to go. It doesn’t taste gamey to me, it’s similar to lamb or grass fed beef, just leaner. You could also go for sausage (aka Kanga Bangas). They normally have it seasoned and spiced up that any gaminess is covered up. It’s pretty average in a burger. Two more meats to add to your plate would be emu and crocodile. Glad you’re going the inland route, there are a lot of great little towns, cute rest stops (e.g. Dog on the Tuckerbox in Gundagai). Do you know about Australia’s Big Things? We have a bunch of random oversized statues/sculptures of things (Big Lobster, Big Pineapple, Big Koala, etc.) and a few will be coming up on your route so keep an eye out for them/look them up ahead.

Gday again guys👋👋 A new flash & fresh intro 👍😎 When I saw Tia making those poached eggs, I was hoping you'd have them my favourite way...on butter & vegemite toast 😋 the eggs really cream up the vegemite & softens the bitterness. Though I love vegemite daily anyway 👍😁 Fair enough about the footy & crowd anxiety 😘 Though the MCG is on my bucket list to see Fremantle play at⚓ (or anyone really). But you can catch a game at Perths new Optus Stadium when you get back 'home' to sell Blueberry 😉 It's a brilliant stadium, with beautiful views of the Swan River & the city. The stadium surroundings are spot on too..& the pub 🍻🍷🥃 ..& you can climb & or zipline the Matagarup Bridge next to the stadium also. I'll even leave the house & go with you 😬..& educate you on Aussie Rules Footy 🙃 The atmosphere is really uplifting with the Freo crowd 💜🤍 ..just like Fremantle itself! 😉 Looking forward to the next episode 👍👍 ✌️♥️

Instead of the AFL, try an NRL game in Sydney!

If they do an NRL game & not AFL, they might not make it out of here alive. It's both or neither! But I must admit, much less chance of crowd anxiety at the NRL..

Awesome to have you guys back in Oz. The markets look great. Totally understand not liking the crowds. I'm the same. I hate crowds myself. It's almost like a claustrophobic feeling for me. I use the mussel shell as a spoon to scoop up the juice as well as it's an awesome soup. Safe travels folks your videos are something to look forward to each week

There is another sport Australian's and New Zealanders are very passionate about, Rugby league..it's the game I grew up living and breathing, and the reason my dad and I would travel to Sydney every year .it's known as the toughest sport on the planet to many and it's called the nrl 😉 knew you would miss blueberry ....get ready for Sydney traffic 🤯❤️👋🇳🇿NZ

Although you’ve probably left alps just prior to winter is a great time to walk to top of Australia’s highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko. Easy walk

My guess is the Adelaide claim of 'largest market' is 'largest covered market'. As you see Victoria Markets are bigger in area but not under one roof.

For me, Kangaroo is best served as a steak medium/medium rare. Otherwise like a beef steak it becomes too chewy. It's great in a burger also! You can get marinated steaks, thin steaks of it etc. It's a great tasting meat. For the AFL game that's totally justified, the crowds there can get pretty rowdy too. I'd say go to one of the NSW or QLD state team games at either the Gabba (Brisbane) or SCG (Sydney), but it's not going to be the same atmosphere you'd get at a big Melbourne home team game at the MCG. Would still be cool to see the reactions to the sport, most people have trouble following it for the first time since the rules are so different that it seems there are almost no rules. The NSW and QLD states are more rugby states, but that's not a sport I follow so I wouldn't know what watching a game is like. AFL is really quite unique, do try giving it another go but as someone with anxiety myself dont beat yourself up too much if you can't muster the courage to do it. Peace guys.

Never had kangaroo meat nor has anyone in my family. There’s something weird about eating the national animal .. yeh nah.. not for me thanks. But I’ve heard it’s gamey. It’s not overly popular with Aussies, a lot of people buy it for their dogs though.
