It’s a Love song- Written by bassist John Deacon for his young bride Veronica back in 1975 - they are still married (46 years! ) and have 6 kids, and are grandparents too.

Yes, she needs to dig a little deeper. The give away was the line: I'm happy at home. This could not be just a friend!

Yep! Written by our youngster bassist John Deacon. John wanted to have an electric keyboard in the song & asked Freddie to play it. Freddie refused exclaiming to John “why would I play that small keyboard when I have this superb piano to play?” So John took the electric keyboard home & learned how to play it for the song! That’s why you see Freddie on vocals & John on the keyboard. This song has been used in countless movies like SHAUN OF THE DEAD & THE BREAK-UP. 🌿🌸🌿🌺🌿🌼🌿

Notice John Deacon, the bassist, is playing keyboard. Freddie didn’t like the keyboard (preferred piano), John wanted to learn and took this keyboard home and wrote this song for his wife. Great song.

Angela don’t forget to listen to Love of My Life live in RIO. It’s incredible. Also you are now ready to cover Queens performance at Live Aid in 1986. Many bands played free to raise money for famine in Africa. Queens performance blew everyone away. It’s considered the best live performance ever. They performed for 21 minutes and Freddie had 40% of the world singing with him either there or watching on the tv.

Like the Carpenters, Queen were masters at multi-track harmonies.

John Deacon wrote some brilliant songs including Another One Bites the Dust, I Want to Break Free, Spread Your Wings and morel. I definitely recommend those three for sure!!

Wow Jeff, seen them twice in the 80's, would loved to have been at the 70's ones, it's my fav decade of them as I grew up with early Queen.

We were the lucky ones. I saw them in 80, 82 and 84, would have loved to have seen them in the mid-70s. But not complaining. It was a really special thing to see this talented band in concert.

After many years of never having an "official couples song", I told my husband awhile back that THIS... is our song.💕 (We've been married 25 YEARS.) BTW... When are you gonna do Queen at LIVE AID?💕👑

It was the song at the opening credits for a Jennifer Aniston movie called The Breakup. A few other movies used it as well.

You did hear this on a commercial. It's insane how often their songs are used in advertising, there are usually at least three around at any given time. One guy online groused, "Is it even legal to make a commercial without a Queen song in it?" 😄 This was right after the movie came out, when there were FIVE circulating!

Most people growing up in the USA, throughout the many decades, heard certain songs on tv commercials before realizing that they are from original songs.

A large majority of commercials that have catchy tunes are actually old pop or rock songs of the past. It's easier to license a great song then write a new one.

Should react to Duran Duran. They were the biggest band in the world in the early 80s. Many great songs from them like Ordinary World, Come Undone, Do You Believe in Shame, Girl Panic, Rio, Save a Prayer and the list goes on. At least a couple of hundred songs. Looking forward to you playing the list and a you will surely get lots of subs from die hards, including from me 😆✌️Gwen Stefani, Green Day, Incubus, Justin Timberlake, Mike Ruffalo, Rush, Blur, Jimmy Fallon and many others are big fans of the band!

Please react to Queen’s These are the days of our lives. The band promised to keep making music as it was Freddie’s wish to just keep working until the end. Plus I think you will love Brian’s guitar.

You seem to appreciate great guitar, vocals and stage presence, I've got the band for you!! Check out the band 'Rainbow' (from the 70's), Ronnie James Dio (the GOAT of rock singers) was their vocalist back then, he went on to front Black Sabbath and his solo band 'DIO'. Start with RAINBOW, songs 'Mistreated' (LIVE in Munich 1977), 'Stargazer' (unofficial video, it's the Munich concert), 'Catch the Rainbow' (Live in Munich 1977) and 'Gates of Babylon' (filmed in a haunted castle in one take live). You will be AMAZED at the vocal ability Ronnie had, AND he was known as the nicest, most decent, intelligent man who adored his fans. Start here, the guitarist is Ritchie Blackmore who is a mentor for many of the greats to follow. And if guitar us really your thing, check out Stevie Ray Vaugn, song, 'Texas Floods live at the El Mocambo, you won't even believe what you're seeing.
