I actually liked the collaboration between Paul Rodgers, Brian May and Roger Taylor. Yes it's not Queen without Freddie Mercury and John Deacon, but neither was it trying to be. It was different. I went to a couple of the gigs on the '08 tour and thought it was brilliant. I wasn't quite old enough to be allowed to go to one of Queen's concerts on their final tour with Freddie, which really pisses me off actually, so for me this was the next best thing. This also meant that I discovered the music of Paul Rodgers, of which there are some pretty damn good tunes.

The original is the best for me, but this is as good as you can get while not being John. The trick with 'Imagine' is that it is a song with soft lyrics, but sharp music. 99% of covers overplay the soft part, usually while prolonging the last syllable of each and every line, turning the entire song into an excessively sweet kitsch. I am so glad I have finally found a cover of my most favourite song which doesn't do that! :)

Marko Djurdjevic It is true he is right af. Religion is stuff people believe in, not to be fought over! Me as a atheist disagrees over " religion" . It should not be fought about!

One of the most well-meaning songs ever written! Let’s hope it comes true! 😇😇

Not how John actually lived his life. He loved possessions. When asked about the paradox he said it’s just a bloody song!

@@rosalind3954 I didn’t know that. He was a man of peace though and I’m sure the meaning of the song Imagine was written with sincere meaning and vision of a world he would like to see. The hippy movement represents a free and peaceful world that we would like to live in.😇😇
