Man I just loved the sound back when it was with Castillo! And no, has nothing to do with the fact that I was given his broken drumstick after a sort of private show the band put on for just 100 to 150 or so fans in a smaller type room up above a club in Covington, KY back in what... fall of 2003 I believe. He broke it during a drum solo of SFTD in middle of set. All in all though, pretty good guy he seemed to be as I got to meet em all after the show. ....(lol) well that is all except for Homme himself. He was the only one that not only wasn’t there for any sort of meet n greet before/after the show but wasn’t there for the show either. Was about an 10 to 11 song set all sung by Oliveri and Lanegan. Show still pretty much rocked out! Really sucked for me at first when finding out Homme hadn’t made the show but after thinking for a bit...How many QOTSA fans can say they seen em perform a show minus Josh? Was a great show thru and thru, no doubt!
