I'll never get over how Lanegan looks so pissed all the time lol (2-22-22, RIP Mark, thank you for the intensity)
@kanyefuck70183 жыл бұрын
Lanegan had two best friends, one was Kurt Cobain, who's death he has always felt at least partly responsible for. The other was Layne Staley, who had been found dead a couple of months before this was recorded. Lanegan was enjoying his first attempt at sobriety when he had visited the hermit like Staley a short while before and felt unable to help him. He carries a lot of guilt but at this moment, especially around the definitely not sober Queens, singing 'a song for the dead', he probably had a lot of reasons to be looking a bit out of sorts.

@@kanyefuck7018 that makes sense, both Layne and Kurt were really nice people. RIP both gentlemen

I think it’s because on another performance Dave messed that bit up, so Nick was watching to see if it would happen again, hence the middle finger from Dave at the end :)

Lasse well my opinion on that would be the Misfit Love performance on Rollins' show. That is no doubt the very best performance of that track I've ever heard. As for SFTD here, yeah it rocks but I don't think it's the best performance of that track by far. I mean yeah it friggin jams no doubt about it but I feel a lot of people that I see on here stating this SFTD performance is its #1 bcos of it also featuring Grohl and Lanegan. Hell, there's a few shows during that 2002-03 SFTD tour that had a better performance of that track than this here. My opinion anyway. Btw, I do think though this show put out 1 of the very top performances of Regular John. I held that one as my overall #1 recording of Reg. John that is until around '08 or so when they tweaked with a few parts of the song to make it sound better than what it already did when played live.

Tom Barker yeah that performance of No One Knows is up there in my top 3 recordings of that track no doubt about it!

I work at a major music retailer (won't say which, but you can probably guess) and Dave came in to our flagship location recently and played around in the drum room for like 10 minutes on a brand new kit. By the time he was done, the beater on the kick pedal and bass drum head were fucked. After like 10 minutes. Dude pounds. Fucking amazing.
