Great job! Eddie Jackson is probably my favorite metal bassist, mixing relentless drive with interesting melodies, and you do a great job of capturing that. 👍

Best bass cover of this song that I've heard! And there's no other way to play it than on a Spector! Mindcrime is the main reason I bought mine 34 years ago.

@@karjamatti I"ve got a 1991 Warwick with EMG's that doesn't even come close to that. I can see why they are so valuable. Any effects?

Omg sound does not even come close to the Warwick I own. And it's a 1991 Streamer. What a fantastic bass. I can see why they are so valuable. Worth every penny if you're playing this type of stuff!

@@chrisk920 just your standard daw-stuff, compression and eq. The tone mostly comes from the bass, but it’s also crucial that it’s set up in a way that allows you to get that growl (low action!!!)

Eddie Jackson's bass tone is arguably the best tone.... Ever. I saw somebody doing this on a 5 string and not doing drop D... It loses the droning low D sound as the line moves and intertwines with the verses.. If that makes sense lol It just needs that constant D moving along that you can't get whe you fret the low D. Nice job!

Thank you! Couldn’t agree more about Eddie’s tone, it’s incredible on this album. And I totally get what you’re saying, you really need that open D to get this one right

Played incredibly well, the sound also is really close. On the album it sounds like he is using a pick and a bit more grit (I think the amp was cranked up to distort a bit when recording) but in the mix there is very little noticeable difference from yours. The spector clearly does his (or her) thing.

Ed Jackson always uses pick in the studio. Fingers live for comfort and reliability. But he’s a pick guy in the studio.

Thanks! I’m not sure of the year, but the ns-2 specs were pretty much identical throughout the Kramer era. But of course no two pieces of wood are the same, so each bass will be unique
