I’ve watched this reaction many times, simply because it was my request and my name was mentioned. That made me smile. Enjoy your reactions, and I think you are a very nice lady. I would like to suggest another by Queensrÿche, and this one is actually a true “a little harder” song than the ballad silent lucidity. The Lady Wore Black, live in Japan 1984. Get to see a little bit more of their progressive rock, and certainly more of Geoff Tate’s legendary vocals. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for them. In his prime, he was in my opinion one of the best in the world.

In actuality in the age of ballads they took it a slightly different direction. The song is actually more of a lullaby, if you watch the official video you will see it's about a child experiencing the loss of someone close to them and it's a song to comfort them telling then they can be the master of their dreams. It is a very pretty song.

I keep listening to this reaction over and over and finding things I want to comment on! The studio version is as beautiful as this, but with an orchestra. It’s worth a listen. Their harder stuff where you get the “grrr” from are some of the songs I mention in my previous comment. Also the album Rage for Order is amazing. Empire is another good one to listen to. Geoff has one of the most underrated voices in rock music. He’ll blow your mind. Hope you check those out! Thanks again!💜

Studio version. Enjoy kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJnEpWCuirZpmtk Hush now don't cry Wipe away the teardrop from your eye You're lying safe in bed It was all a bad dream Spinning in your head Your mind tricked you to feel the pain Of someone close to you leaving the game of life So here it is, another chance Wide awake you face the day Your dream is over, or has it just begun? There's a place I like to hide A doorway that I run to in the night Relax child, you were there But only didn't realize it and you were scared It's a place where you will learn To face your fears, retrace the years And ride the whims of your mind Commanding in another world Suddenly, you hear and see This magic new dimension I will be watching over you I am gonna help you see it through I will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you, in silent lucidity Visualize your dream Record it in the present tense Put it into a permanent form If you persist in your efforts You can achieve dream control Dream control How's that then, better? Hug me If you open your mind for me You won't rely on open eyes to see The walls you built within Come tumbling down, and a new world will begin Living twice at once you learn You're safe from pain in the dream domain A soul set free to fly A round trip journey in your head Master of illusion, can you realize Your dream's alive, you can be the guide but I will be watching over you I am gonna help you see it through I will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you, in silent lucidity

Whew, this one is a "heavy hitter" for me...waking up in the middle of the night to the cries of my little one (she's not so little anymore, being that she's a senior at Marshall University) having dreams and nightmares. She didn't understand what was happening to her in the dark, and I would try to explain just what dreams and nightmares are. That there was no reason to be scared because they aren't real. Those who are parents will understand what I'm getting at...

If I understand the concept correctly lucidity is supposed to be about actually controlling our dreams and somewhere along the line I've also heard the theory that we actually leave our bodies while dreaming. So take that with controlling it and we can visit people while sleeping and even look over and protect someone. I've had dreams that I've visited my daughter. I try to be there with her in heart, mind, and spirit.

D Lynn, you don't have to review this, but in your own time listen to Queensryche's entire Operation Mindcrime album. You have to listen to the whole album because it is a whole and continuous story, the whole album. It is the best album ever, there is not a bad song. Give it a chance but you don't have to review. If you do listen to it, I'm curious of your thoughts on the album. Can be a brief review. No long drawn out reviews. Just a sentence or 2 would be fine.

Hi @Christopher James! I have actually heard (and love) both of those songs! Perhaps you can name something else from them I can react to...anything that wasn't played on the radio would work, because I never owned an Alice In Chains album. I know...sad.☹ Thank you!
