They were a shadowpicture of what was to come . Soros is Dr X . Antifa and BLM are Nicki ! They are picked to displace the leaders countering objectives they are the new underground reality . They like Niki believe they are making a difference, they are only t b used and discarded .Fascists calling everyone else Fascists . Essentially they are working for the same puppet masters that have infiltrated and corrupted our system from within and they are the expendable cannon fodder scapegoats just like Niki .

It's a story.... These lyrics are meant to speak to people (particularly if you just listen to one song like this one) so much as tell the story of a broken person who was duped and had his hatred and addiction fanned so he could be used by an evil dude to assassinate politicians and ended up in an insane asylum. They're telling a story of a truly broken person taken in and used because of his views

Looking at some of these comments, I feel like some of you didn't listen to the whole album. The main character literally gets brainwashed into joining a violent terrorist organization/cult that takes advantage of his desire to make a change, and becomes one of their assassins. He is troubled by what he must do, but only truly realizes he's joined the wrong people when they order him to kill Sister Mary (his only friend and comfort in life) for knowing too much. Sister Mary also reveals she's suicidal because of her troubled past and involvement with the organization. When he tries to escape with her, he's framed for her murder, and ends up institutionalized, no longer able to make any difference at all, and having been discarded by the people he dedicated his life to. Yes, this song is talking about some very real issues that are still relevant today, but the album is also warning the listener to not trust political revolutionary organizations that seek to indoctrinate and brainwash those who want to make a positive difference on the world.

[Chorus] Revolution calling Revolution calling Revolution calling you (There's a) Revolution calling Revolution calling Gotta make a change Gotta push, gotta push it on through [Verse 2] I'm tired of all this bullshit They keep selling me on T.V About the communist plan And all the shady preachers Begging for my cash Swiss bank accounts while giving their Secretaries the slam They're all in Penthouse now Or Playboy magazine, million dollar stories to tell I guess Warhol wasn't wrong Fame fifteen minutes long Everyone's using everybody, making the sale [Sub-Chorus] I used to think That only America's way, way was right But now the holy dollar rules everybody's lives Gotta make a million, doesn't matter who dies [Chorus] [Guitar solo] I used to trust the media To tell me the truth, tell us the truth But now I've seen the payoffs everywhere I look Who do you trust when everyone's a crook? "I used to trust the media to tell me the truth" is such a great line. I also love the line in "take hold of the flame" that says "Throw down the chains of oppression that bind you With the air of freedom the flame grows bright We are the strong, the youth united We are one, we are children of the light"

This band gripped a cyberpunk concept and didn’t let go for this album. And the result was one of the more prescient albums ever.

Funny how this song still sounds like it is talking about the time we are living in now instead of 20 years ago.

discovered in the end of the 80's in WRTL Wango Tango on RTL radio station (France/Belgium), while i hide myself under the blanket in my bed instead of sleeping after 11pm. Fighting not to fall asleep I suddently listened the trilogy "I Remember Now/Anarchy X/Revolution Calling". the exact sound to wake up ^^. i'm glad to find it back so long after :)
