As a kid of the 90s and 00s (born in 91), Queensryche was my jam in my teenage years and I grew up idolizing Geoff Tate as my favorite vocalist. I am not a good singer and I can karaoke myself at home but damn, those Ryche lyrics were hard to sing. I knew a lot of great vocalists from the 80s and Geoff Tate was that guy. I know when Queensryche made this song, they didn't *intend* it to be completely sincere. It's framed as part of a story, or, if they were stating some of their beliefs (as it certainly feels), they "played it safe" by giving themselves a framing device. So, all I can say is, *THIS BUT UNIRONICALLY!*
