Thanks for this! For me the KMA will be the easy choice because of the good tracking plus top jacks.

Very useful video, thank for this one ! The OC-5 sounds so much better and smoother to my ears, especially for a classic "octaver use" (-1 octave 50% to 100% wet). The Queeg however has a unique "synthy digital growl" distinctive tone and as you mentionned, it tracks a bit better in the lower register. It may fit some extreme genres better I would say.

Yeah I absolutely agree. OC-5 and Q are different, but both are great at what they do

OC5 is digital and Queeqeq 2 analog not sure if it matters i seem to gravite toward analog pedals

Thank you so much for this video! After watching the whole thing and certain parts numerous times it's helped me to realize that between the three the best pick is... All three😂

Im going oc5. I dont need an additional fuzz unit like the poly blue has, and the oc5 sounded a little better in this demo. Thank you!

Hi Jack! Cool shoot out. The KMA reminds me of the Emma electronic okto nojs. However, the OC5 sounds sooo smooth…
@AmbientBassCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's hard to beat Boss but Queequeg holds up pretty well against OC-5. Better then I was expecting. Oh yeah! I had Okto Nojs at one point along with Emma's dual delay pedal they have I forgot the name but yeah your right, defiantly similar sounding
@T-Hawkeyes2 жыл бұрын
The tracking on the Emma Okto Nojs is going to be hard to beat. Seriously.

The above and below had me confused-above to me would mean a higher note rather than the position.But i stopped obsessing over it and just listened to the demo :)
@AmbientBassCreations2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I totally thought about that when starting to edit this. I chose to refer to position because I thought that it would actually make it less confusing lol but I know for some, if you say up or down referring to a fretboard, it's just automatic to think pitch so, I hope it doesn't make to many more people confused and I'm glad you made it though it. Hope it helped.

I am a very happy KMA owner. I like that the Q has a little less sub it helps keep it sitting up against drums Markbass octaver raw is very oc2 based - and analogue
@rl-ub9hx Жыл бұрын
Also the sub bass on the PBO was MASSIVE on my surround sound with woofer. Drastically more than the Q or OC

That’s actually pretty awesome! Lol

I ended up going the poly blue. Very versatile. The fuzz is great and the phaser is gorgeous.

Yeah the pb definitely has more to offer. Excellent choice!

OC5 is so hard to beat. The tracking works great and it really does handle lows the best of any octaver I've ever played through, as far as tone goes. But the big thing for me is how it sounds and tracks with fuzz.

This is a very easy choice depending on what u want. You are bassist or guitarist and basicly want to play synth you want the KMA AND the MXR - the KMA for the synth like tones and the MXR for the deep sub. To be the MXR is basicly unusable for bass players unless very specific scenarios, woud be more my choice as guitar player for clean octaves and/or emulating bass. The Boss is kinda the middle ground to me. The octaves are so clean it sounds wrong to me but I see how it can be used in many ways as guitarist and bassist. I woud personaly go with the Queequeq as Bass AND guitar player if I dont need the octave up from the mxr. As Guitarist I woud choose the mxr probably, as bassist this seems to be mostly unusable to me. The Boss however woud be my second pick for Bass AND guitar, simply cause its a solid middleground and more neutral, and its probably the right choice if you dont like your octaves generated by whales. So I guess theres place for all.

What does “tracking” mean anyway?
@AmbientBassCreations2 жыл бұрын
With Octave pedals, when you play a note and let it ring, at some point, the octave effect will start to break up and turn into a gargling unpleasant sound. Basically a good tracking pedal is a pedal that can hold the effect a long time without breaking into the gargling mess. This video compares which of these tracks the best.
@AmbientBassCreations2 жыл бұрын
I should have put that in the description or video in the first place, I appreciate you asking and reminding me!
@TC_Conner2 жыл бұрын
@@AmbientBassCreations I see, I just started using EHX’s Micro POG, along with my other fx pedals, for ambient compositions. I’m relatively new to this genre and style of playing. I’ll have to keep a close ear out for the “gargling unpleasant sound” when I use the Micro POG. (I haven’t used a bass guitar for any ambient compositions thus far.)
@AmbientBassCreations2 жыл бұрын
Thats awesome that your getting into ambient! I haven't used Micro Pog before but I see it on a lot of boards so it looks like your off to a good start!
