Just bought one and it needs lots of time to get to know it well. Thanks for your demo, very useful. Not that in love with the pedal I should have bought a POG Octave and a Gamechanger Plasma pedal or one Darkglass fuzz/overdrive. I'm thinking on adding to my pedal board one Cali 76 Bass compressor replacing my Ampeg. I'll continue experimenting the PBO MXR till total understanding.

Hey man, really good demo of this pedal. This would replace at least 2 pedals for me. It’s kinda like having a few pedals jam packed into 1. I think I’m gonna have to get this & sell a couple of other pedals.

So sorry for the delay J K. Got back from my trip over the holiday weekend today and I just sat down to see what that screeching is. The pedal is definitely not a noisy pedal. The screeching is me leaving my basses volume on full and not muting my strings completely after I plucked them. I literally just tested it and as soon as I mute my strings or turn the volume off on my bass it stops. It's just my bass. The fuzz defiantly brings out the resonant frequency of a slightly ringing string more, then when the fuzz is off, but the screeching is just because I didn't fully mute the strings with my hand after the last time I plucked a string. Honestly, it's actually a pretty quiet pedal. Thanks for bring that up though so it could be clarified.

Thanks for sharing this rundown! How is the polyphonic tracking for octave ups? Does it get a bit glitchy playing chords on bass?

It barley gargles and pops. Using the up octaves, the tracking is very good with chords on bass. The higher up the neck you go with the low notes it kind of gargles but the tracking is still great. What stands out to me is the sustain. You can let a chord ring out for looong time with no tracking issues. Maybe the last 3 seconds of the chord it will get weird but it goes for so long without issues, it's no problem for me personally.

Hell yeah! As a full-time bassist with extremely varied, continual multi-instrumental interests and "lead bassist" proclivities I don't always have the tools to fulfill this guy alone with an expression pedal will allow me to have the ideal ensemble-focused octave effect and a cutting lead sound on demand when the music needs more and the rest of the band isn't rising to it... just got mine today, tomorrow is the test drive with a jazzy, neo-soul keys trio that will definitely benefit from the way octave pedals fill out a trio but with guitar solos available on demand

The internal switch toggles the pedal between STEREO and MONO modes. On the board above the switch the modes are printed with arrows to indicate their settings
