Such a beautiful character/relationship study. I love the parallels you highlighted, especially the ones related to Fillory saving the both of them.

I've been watching this really often, since I found it about or month or so ago, and wondering what i could say in a comment that would really get across what this video has done for me and what it means to me. I still don't know if i can express it but I'll try. I loved the books, but was always a little disappointed that Eliot and Quentin's connection wasn't taken any further than the close and beautiful friendship they had. When the show came around, I loved every bit of it, and when they started to expand on that relationship in a really meaningful way, I was stunned. I had never seen anything like it before, let alone in a show i already adored with actors who gave so much to their characters. I'd never connected with media like that, I didn't think i could, outside of books. So. after the season 4 finale, i was heartbroken. I didn't look at any fanvids, didn't read any fics, and the only posts i interacted with or made were those critical of the writers/showrunners for they way they handled everything. i completely shut myself out of it, the meaning of the books and Q's story was destroyed for me. until couple of friends, who knew of the spoiler, decided they wanted to watch it. I re-watched with them, and around season three i started looking at content again, and found this video. The parallels and moments you've highlighted showcase so much of what makes them such a dynamic pairing, but it also shows so much of what makes them both such interesting people to examine, write, and love. What Fillory meant to both of them, and what their time there did to them, the way they look at problems and themselves, and that tight little orbit they have with the other, and the things they'll do to keep it. That stubborn, hopeful heart of the story, that I first found in the books and that grew even stronger as I watched the show, started rebuilding itself, and I started writing, and loving this story again. this song is on my writing playlist, because a lot of those feelings woke up when i saw this, and i can't say how grateful I am for that. It's such a beautiful, lovely video, and on top of that, it reminded me that i can make my own story, that I can keep everything I love in a way that really matters. Thank you. so much. also...they got cancelled!!

This is possibly my favorite comment I've ever received. In a way, this is why fan content of any kind is ever made. You're just kind of trying to wrangle your feelings you get from media and reflect that out into a void, hoping that someone can find something similar to how they felt as well, that something that resonates with them. I might never personally get back to the point where I can enjoy the Magicians or consume any of the Magicians fandom either unfortunately, but I'm very glad you were able to reconnect. I'm very happy to hear the song is on your writing playlist and that that tiny impression I've made with this video helps spark a part of your own creativity. Thank you for writing this comment

This is just so amazing! I love how this shows how they support each other and just help each other be strong. I love how this shows how both of them love Fillory and showing how Eliot has become Quentin's emotional support. The parallels! Thank you for this piece of art!💜

The Magicians was not fantasy. It was a tragedy using fantasy themes as tool. Fantasy is escapism, escapism is the kingdom where good people don’t die, not really, not like that. They killed him dirty, to draw tears. They disrespected the work of Lev Grossman. This was supposed to be story of one of us, his path was suppose to find a way to peace and live a simple life (like in the mosaic life, this should have been his endgame), not dying after months of torture to the point where even himself isn’t sure he didn’t kill himself. I don’t care about Jason leaving they could have found another way. I will never forgive them for what they’ve done.
