Another interesting video Steve. Really great that you are sharing your plans/thoughts as you progress through your new pond build. All seems to make sense and marking everything on the wall really helps picture how things are going to work. Already looking forward to the next update. Take care and stay safe👍🐟🈲🇯🇵😊

Hi Steve, thanks for the kind comments in your previous video. Really nice walk through tutorial. With regards to the uv we recommend the dirty inlet section over placing it directly under the drum as uv damage could occur to the rubber seal in the long term. To protect the longevity of the drum mesh and seals it’s better to keep the uv where no other components reside.

With you all the way on that Adam, cheers.

Just a thought Steve, build your plinth a little bit lower so you have some ' wiggle room ' for the drum. I had to lower mine somewhat as water level was too low when pump was running. Love your updates btw Andy

Great video Steve.....if your selling your eazy pod use your mature k1 from it to mix in with the new micro k1 to seed it quicker then buy a new 25ltr bag to go with the pod as new buyer will hopefully pp the hell out of it before using it 😉👍

Thanks Martyn, I reckon the UV will be 'dropped' into the drum section eventually. Stay safe.

just a tip with the amalgam UV tank connector, you need to empty the filter to change the bulb, the quartz sleeve is held in from the out side with the same nut that screws the bulb in making it waterproof. It looks neater with the tank connector fitting the UV, but its a lot easier just dropping it in

Great vid. Nice bit of kit. On option of UV. You will probably find the seal around your drum between the dirty and hard areas is not UV stable. That is why Queni say put in dirty side to not effect the seal.

Good video Steve , why are you coming out of bd and going away from the drum inlet to go around perimeter of wall back to drum , more bends etc ,and do t forget the T piece to purge your bottom drain
@CATANDEYEKOI3 жыл бұрын
If I go under the drum I can't get to the valve plus I want to put a rodding point in hence coming out the way I intended. I understand the purge element but valves ate £115 each.....ouch. Take care.

Hi Steve, when building plinth, allow for 12mm plywood base for drum to sit on, provides insulation and allows the drum a perfect flat base, also allows you to add or go thinner the plywood base to get height right, because it will really bug you if height is wrong, as said in another comment, it's the skimmer and not necessarily the pond water height that dictates drum height.
@CATANDEYEKOI3 жыл бұрын
Very good advice Marek, thank you.

When positioning the skimmer in the new pond, be aware that a drum filter will in effect give you a high water mark & a low water mark between cleaning cycles.ensure that even at the lower level it doesn’t leave your skimmer line high & dry before the trickle feed topping back up again.
