multiple occasions throughout those 9 days. The last 4 days I didn’t move from bed not even to pee… that’s when my mom brought me to the ER again in the middle of the night unexpectedly. They pumped my IVs and that hydrated and grew a brain abscess that was 5.6 cm x 2.6cm x2.2 cm. I had surgery on my brain and have a pick line now. My surgery was on may 25th. I had a follow up MRI recently and the abscess is now 3.0cm x 1.6cm x1.8cm. My results came in through mychart but have yet to be reviewed by a care team. Should I be concerned that there is still an abscess?

Could be MS, could be ADEM, could even be MDEM. An MRI alone is not enough anyway to diagnose MS, but the lesions do suggest it since there are some on classic spots. But at the same time, some lesions do not look typical for MS either, so you might be right. But since this is a fast-paced quiz, I think they went for a later stage MS MRI, rather than making them think about ADEM or any encephalopathy. Still, would have been better to also include imaging of the brain stem, cerebellum and maybe the spinal cord.
