Played this at a friends. He had the proper steering wheels and gear stick / pedal setup. Honestly made me see a bit sick. Possibly the only VR game that has ever done that.

Yeah I have the wheel etc. I fly more than I drive though, so don't keep the wheel hooked up as I have limited space with all the flight gear and rudder pedals. This was with a gamepad so inputs aren't as smooth, still I survived the stage. Interesting it made you feel ill, I've never had any issue playing it in VR.

@@Honosuseri Yeah, I'm pretty poor at driving games though, and I spent as much time seemingly flying sidewards through the air! I wasn't physically sick, and finished the course, but wasn't inclined to accept the offer for another go lol

Oh I seeeee! Yes that makes sense if you were rolling the car lol When I first played DCS in VR, inverting the airplane I got butterflies in my stomach. No G forces but my brain thought I was upside down, funny how it plays tricks on you. I got over it pretty quickly though

@@Honosuseri ha, my sheer driving sim incompetence coupled with VR was a recipe for disaster in hindsight. I can see why ppl go all in kit wise though, just not for me. Funny, things like ED where you may be spinning in a similar manner didn't get me, I guess it's the scenery flashing past, but who knows.

Rally driving is HARD! It's not what I would choose to introduce people to driving in VR, there are plenty of other driving sims. The Nurburgring is a well known track which some people will take their real car around, so they like to practice learning the corners in sims. Shame you seem to have been put off it, as the way VR games are going (not for PC but the headset itself) sims are the best way to get use of the headset. In space there is no right way up, it's all relative. In a plane you see the ground and the sky and you are very much aware you're right side up or upside down, your brain is going to go "WTF!" when you first go inverted in VR. If you kept rolling the rally car I can imagine that would make you feel a bit odd!

This was one of my 1rst pc games that could also be played in vr. I first played on the rift s and later quest 2. I always wonder what wpuld it take to get the graphics in the vr runtime to be 1:1 with the actual stuff on screen.
