Quest to get on the Alone show (5 Day SOLO Bushcraft Camping) Day 2

This video is me doing a 5-day solo adventure to practice shelter building and going over the 5 W's of picking a survival shelter location. Practicing fire making with different techniques, (Ferro Rod, Flint and Steel). I give some pointers and helpful safety tips in doing so. I also show how to split a log for boards using nature wedges made of wood. Had to adapt to many changes due to lumber jacks and logging. I show how to dry bark for cordage and bird nest usage.

Awesome 2nd day Rich. It's amazing how quickly dehydration can set in when you are working. Thank you for showing how you built the framing of your shelter. I think that will help a lot of people with their shelter builds. I also love the tips you give and I hope people pay attention to them because you know what you are talking about. Have you tries sassafras tea? Use it in moderation of course bit it is a nice warm tea with an earthy taste. It gets a lot of sass from people saying it causes cancer but that's if it's not consumed in moderation. I drink it myself. Anyway great video Rich and I can't wait for Day 3!

Yes, I hope it does help, and the dehydration is really overlooked when you get sidetracked and want to get a job accomplished, at least for me and that is something that you have to pay attention to. Thanks for watching and the feedback.

Thanks for your comment, I feel as it is a survival competition and if you fail at foraging and hunting you will starve. A lot depends on your location and skills. You also have to look at the mental preparation and challenges that goes with being alone. All the participants are worthy to be there and test their skills against mother nature. They all have to prove that in order to be on the show. I can only hope I get my chance one day.
