The Duelists is a fecking masterpiece in metal music! Bruces vocals are one of the best, the guitars arrangement.. i don't get how so many people over look that song. I think because it's not the kind of song played live so you hear more of the powerslave, aces high, Mariner etc, but anyone reading this, go check that song out again, it's so so good

"Lost in a Lost World" is a beautiful, touching song about the loss of a culture that, interestingly, tells the story about Native Americans with old Irish melodies. On paper, it is not something that should have worked, but the actual song is a stroke of brilliance. Very unique. And isn't unique, authentic music what we hope to get from rock and heavy metal as an art form? "Fates Warning" is Maiden perfection. The lyrics in the bridge are so unique and thought provoking, as is the whole song, the solo is a slam dunk, the guitar harmony is classy, and the pace at which the song progresses is the perfect mid-tempo. Class from start to finish. "Back in the Village" features some mind-blowing precision guitar work that we haven't figured out how to play correctly to this day. "Gangland" is a song for the sake of the song. It never wants to be a hit and, therefore, has an enduring quality in that you can't overplay it and get bored of it, because it resists the fatigue that overplaying can introduce. "Quest for Fire.' Find even one other metal band that has thought of singing about dinosaurs and the importance of fire to early humans. Some find the song cheesy, but I think it's what sets Maiden apart, again, and puts them in a class of their own. "Mother of Mercy" is wonderfully macabre. It is Maiden's modern-day equivalent of "Children of the Damned."

Tailgunner is a nice opener, Mother Russia gets ignored for no reason and it's one of the best epic closers, title song goes deep, Run Silent, Run Deep, The Assassin and Bring Your Daughter are really fun... Holy Smoke and Hooks in You are hard rock anthems... Very little to dislike on No Prayer

In my opinion, the weakest song on Senjutsu is "The Darkest Hour." The intro sounds super spacey and suggests that something much bigger and more bombastic is about to come, which never happens. The chorus falls a bit flat and is far less grandiose than it was probably intended to sound, mainly due to the unflattering production and instrumentation that are missing that special something that the chorus needed. It is actually a very good song, but it suffers from the mentioned musical incongruence and is let down by the unflattering production and uninspired instrumentation.

This is a tough one.... IM: Running Free (most bland track on the album IMO) Killers: Another Life (pretty fun song but nothing too special) TNOTB: Invaders (yeah I like Gangland. I would say Total Eclipse is worse if we're including that track) POM: Quest for Fire (pretty self explanatory. Lyrics are shit and even the instrumentals are pretty bland) Powerslave: Flash of the Blade (sooooo tough to pick a worst song on this album. I hate to have this song here) SIT: Deja Vu (again, so damn hard to pick a worst song....... it's close to Heaven Can Wait but i dislike it more because of the solos and the ooh ooh oohh part) SSOASS: Prophecy (only "weak" track on the whole album. My least favourite song of each album of Iron Maiden: - Iron Maiden: Strange world (good but they have better soft songs) - Killers: Prodigal son (better than the previous one, still its not that amazing) - The number of the beast: Invaders (great song but I just prefer the other ones, including Gangland) - Piece of mind: Quest for fire (great song but compared with the rest of the album, its the most generic song) - Powerslave: The duellists (very hard choice, its amazing but idk, maybe I find the chorus like strange or idk) - Somewhere in time: The loneliness of the long distance runner (very hard choice again, amazing song but the chorus could be more creative) - Seventh son of a seventh son: The prophecy (same as you, I think it doesnt have so much to offer except the ending, which is really good) - No prayer for the dying: Public enema number one (I literally forgot this song exists) - Fear of the dark: The apparition (weird and wtf song... that's pretty much I have to say about this one) - X Factor: honestly I dont like this album so it could be any song except Man on the edge. Seriously, this album is terrible for me - Virtual XI: Dont you think Im a savior... I mean, The angel and the gambler (same reason as everyone) - Brave new world: The thin line between love and hate (beautiful song but its longer than it should be. Something similar happens to Dream of mirrors) - Dance of death: Age of innocence (weak chorus, overall it doesnt have too much to offer) - A matter of life and death: Brighter than a thousand suns (good song but repetitive and a weak chorus where Bruce voice sounds tired af. Also Lord of light and The legacy, decent songs but just that) - The final frontier: Starblind (poor chorus, overall not memorable. Also, songs like Isle of avalon, Mother of mercy or The man who would be a king bore me) - The book of souls: The great unknown (weak chorus, overall Bruce voice sounds so tired in this song) - Senjustu: Senjutsu (very good idea, but longer and slower than it should be)

So glad you called out Heaven can wait. The intro is great, the rest is over repeated. They chose to play this constantly over the years live and don't bother with Loneliness of the long Distance Runner, Stranger or even Sea of Madness. And Yes.... Iron Maiden is over played and very meh.... it's literally just the live ending with Eddie.. That is its only purpose. Surely no one actually listens to it otherwise. Oh, And Can I Play with Madness is defo the worst on 7th Son

A bad Maiden song is better than anything most other bands can do. Out of the following albums, I cannot pick 1 song that I would consider to be bad or significantly worse than the others: Brave New World Final Frontier - I love this album Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Somewhere in Time Powerslave Senjutsu - It continues to grow on me. As a fan of 35 years, I'll take Maiden over every other band.

Iron Maiden: Remember Tomorrow (I don't like songs that feels like it's dragging) Killers: Drifter The Number of the Beast: Invaders (I like every song in the album, so it's the less favorite, not the worst) Piece of Mind: Sun and Steel (people usually hate Quest for Fire, but Quest is a very good song as a whole, I never focus on lyrics, but on melodies and rythm.) 1. "Charlotte The Harlot" (Fun song, I don't skip it, but super cheesy) 2. "Another Life" (Decent, but weaker than the rest) 3. "Invaders" (Still don't skip it but not my fav Maiden opener) 4. "Quest for fire" (this or "die with your boots on") I really don't care for either, but still fun to listen to. 5. "The Duelist" (The vocals on the chorus kinda annoy me, still decent..) 6. "Loneliness of the long distance".. (cool track but my least fav on the album) 7. "Only the good Die young" (Kinda similar to "Can I Play With Madness" especially the chorus, not a bad song on this album though) 8. "Fates Warning".. (meh track) 9. "The Apparition" (easily the weakest track melodically) 10. "Fortunes Of War" (Still cool, but it kinda takes forever to get going) 11. "Angel and the gambler" (Stop writing songs about gambling Steve.. like I love the music of "the red and the black" but it has such stupid lyrics) 12.
