I would appreciate it if you could mark my work to check if I have improved recently I got 6 marks but I think I had improved. In source A, travelling by aeroplane is a 'ever-growing' 'frustration', whereas in source B travelling by a stagecoach 'is infinitely more delightful'. The writer in source A shows he's frustration when mentioning 'seat back that wouldn't go upright... arm rests that were awkward to use'. We can infer from this, that the writer finds the interior of the plane as uncomfortable. This 'frustration' is further emphasised of him spending a long duration of his flight in the plane from '11:30' to' 2:30'. This long period of time suggests that he is very indignant because he is spending a long time in a travel that it is very uncomfortable for him. However, in source B, the stage coach wasn't uncomfortable, but relaxing when writer mentions' all its scenes experience were new and strange'. This implies, that he enjoyed his ride, which contrast to source A who didn't enjoy his ride. Source B, had been allowed to see things that he never seen before suggesting that he is interested of seeing the scenes because if he didn't see it before he will be interested because people tend like to see new things . This shows source B had enjoyed his travel whereas in source A didn't.

Look. The examiner can treat every answer as wrong, because marking is subjective, and AQA allow their examiners to disagree, and do nothing about it, unless the disagreement is by more than two marks in this question. That is the problem of writing in paragraphs. Yes, it is still possible when presented with a range of explanations which are numbered, the examiner might freak out And give you the wrong mark. However, it will be much more difficult for them to do that, because they will see how many explanations you have given. When you write in paragraphs, they will not count the explanations they will just go on a gut feeling. ultimately, this is your exam, and you don’t want to do anything that makes you feel nervous. So it’s up to you.

I have the same problem. What I generally do is look at the last 2 questions so I can start thinking about them before I do them. Other than that you just have to write as fast as you can, even if it's not the absolute best you can write. If you're done and you want to expand a bit later you can always go back if you've finished the paper. You don't get that chance if you spend ages trying to come up with the best idea you can.

The advice is really poor. I think you should look through some examiners reports, talk to teachers and look at mock answers, feels like your stuck down a burrow of your own ideas and finding a cheat to the exam instead of showing people a simple skill. The mark scheme isnt 2 mark per point and comparison, the 2017 examiners report says to avoid this and focus on two or three quotes and find perceptive inferences, its about the skill not how many differences you can spot. This seems too common with your videos and so many people trust you its worrying becuase you make yourself sound like the king when your the only person with this advice. You have great ideas but sometimes put yourself in the students shoes and how they write. Contrasicting teachers just feels off. I love some of your lit videos especially poetry and your questions 5 videos are also good as people overcomplicate.

Hi Charlie, this advice is built on EVERY answer AQA has ever published, so I am pretty confident it works. That said, you should never follow advice you don’t agree with - confidence in the exam is important. As to the examiner’s report, I’m afraid the writers often make stuff up to fit their opinions. I’ve proven this in challenging them to justify some comments, and they had to admit that they had no evidence for them.
