QUESTION: How to Meditate on the Rosary?

I pray the rosary every day. I have a lot of trouble concentrating. I have Parkinson's and dementia. Please pray for me so I could concentrate on the mysteries. Thank you.

Keep trying to pray the rosary as per normal, but now when you encounter difficulty or feel stress or frustration, dedicate that difficulty to God. The stress you feel is essentially a form of suffering, and so can be offerred up. Doing this might actually make your prayer more meritorious than it would be without the suffering. Suffering, if approached in the right way, can sanctify us.

Hi Sisters! I left the Catholic faith at age 14 (dropped out of Confirmation class) and at age 27 I am going through RCIA to complete the process. My husband has even decided to fully convert alongside me after experiencing his first mass this past March! I wanted to share a miracle that has happened in my life. I was told in February of this year (2024) that I was not able to have children and my doctors were in the process of getting me set up to have a total hysterectomy at age 26. This is actually what brought me back in through those church doors. I felt I wasn't ready to take Eucharist again until the weekend of May 25th, 2024. I had doctors appointments afterwards and was told there was no concern for pregnancy still and we had scheduled my surgery for July 12th. However, after coming home from Sunday mass June 30th I just felt that I had to be pregnant. I took a test... and it was positive! I couldn't believe it so I took another. That one was also positive. That next Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, it was discovered that not only was I pregnant: I was 7 weeks along. If you track 7 weeks back from that day where does that land us? The week I took Eucharist for the first time in 12 years. While the medical team around me proclaimed it a medical miracle I truly believe that there was intercession involved as well. Only those who know the true meaning and power behind the Eucharist seem to understand me when I say that Jesus truly truly blessed me and my husband in what seemed impossible. Praying the rosary has been very comforting for me throughout this time and now it just feels like despite feeling for 12 years I was lost I have now been found. God bless!

Don't give up and continue praying the rosary. Almost 2 yrs ago my son told me he no longer believed in God. Saying the Our Father and Hail Mary prayers very slowly with my eyes closed has helped me tremendously to meditate on the mysteries. Also in the Hail Mary, when you say the Holy name of Jesus, I pause and say something to remind me of the mystery: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Me too. I had an addiction to pornography for DECADES...until I had an NDE that terrified me. My priest got me to do 2 things: begin professional counseling to understand the how any addition works, and to pray the rosary daily. It took me a few months to really get it to be a regular part, as I would do it for a few days, then slip a day, etc. Once I started seeing the effects, improvements that I could not attribute to anything else, I was hooked. It has changed my life, and in many more ways than just the addiction.

It does not matter whether joyful, sorrowful, glorious, or luminous mysteries. I cry. For me, I do put myself in the place of Our Lady who is a mother just like me, except she is the mother of our Lord and Savior. Mother Mary has been my friend and confidant since I was 13 years old. Get a brown scapular it goes hand and hand with a rosary though you do make a promise to pray it everyday. I'd also recommend praying the 15 prayers of saint Bridget, it's a one year devotion with plenty of promises, big bonus is that if you pray these prayers for a whole year you honor each of the 5480 blows to Jesus' body. It is a bit long but it has definitely helped me grow in my walk with God. If it's a bit too much for you try the 7 prayers of saint Bridget. A 12 year devotion with an absolutely amazing promise of receiving no purgatory, this includes if you happen to die during the 12 years. Many more awesome promises attached to these devotions so be sure to go check them out yourself.

Praying the rosary is asking for Mary's intercession. Ultimately, Jesus is the one who answers prayers. Just like when you ask someone to pray for you. Mary is powerful because she is his mother. Just like in Cana, she asked Jesus to do something about the wine. He performed the miracle at her request! Hope this expl anation helps. Please pray for my daughter coping with anxiety and depression. She no longer attends holy Mass. she was a cathequist, extreme eucharistic minister and lector. She doesnt socialize and separates herself from interacting with family who love her dearly. She works thank God but thats about it. I love her so much and feel guilty that maybe I didnt see her when she was a child and experiencing loneliness, abandonment and not understood by everyone. Shes a good woman and Im sure she loves us a lot but cant express it because of her pain. Please pray that she opens up to someone of faith and caring that can walk with her so she may heal. I cry frequently because its difficult to see her this way and being able to help her. I try to imitate Mother Mary in her silence and love her until shes ready to heal. She doesnt love herself. But how I get through it is reliving the scene from The Passion of Christ when Mary is following the crowd as JESUS was carrying the cross & her fierce gaze as satan was on the other side of the roadway & he knows she sees him. I am one of the women whose very being is sickened to be making that journey along with Jesus & I’m aware that satan knows I see him too. But it is so difficult to get through the nailing. Ive been attending Catholic church for about 8 months or so now (i left the Anglican Church) and im getting confirmed January coming. I started praying the Rosary last month and i do struggle saying the prayers whilst contemplating the mysteries at the same time , i keep losing focus on one or the other. What's worked for me also is meditating on how I can submit my will to God (annunciation), how I can serve and love other people (visitation), what I can give up or what I can do do practice detachment (nativity), ask Mother Mary to present my sufferings, petitions, and thanksgiving to God (presentation at the temple), ask Mary to always lead me to Jesus, not to be separated from Him, realizing always that Jesus is truly present in the tabernacle. "Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" (finding Jesus).

When reciting Rosary I ALWAYS try to imagine and part take to Christ’s Emotions of that particular mystery… as well! When I am in Adoration I imagine my Saviour on that Cross and I offer him my greatest Love and Consolation. I always incorporate myself into the scene as a passive observer and feel the emotion of the moment strongly. I struggle with focus, but I am getting better at that. The Rosary is life changing. Pray it every day for a month and meditate on it as best you can, and your life will transform. Pray it every day, without fail, make it part of your life, this would be the one piece of advice that I would give above all.
