My partner and I are considering moving to San Diego from Washington state. We are two millennials looking to live on a budget and rent a studio or 1 bedroom. Your channel is helping us so much, and I welcome any "coming from out of state" videos (especially targeted at people who aren't starting a family yet, haha!). Sending love

LOVE the idea of a video on moving from out of state. I live in Missouri and have wanted to move to SD for YEARS but the idea of moving across the country is so intimidating. Moving our cars, our things, knowing what appropriate rent is for what my salary will be, etc. A video on that would be so helpful!

Great idea on comparing cost of living to other states. We fell in love with SD when we visited last year. My family of four is planning to move from Chicago suburbs to SD in the next few years. Would love to see a cost of living video comparing the two. Also, would you recommend renting before buying if moving from out of state?
@BernMcGovern4 жыл бұрын
I’ll put it on the list! As for renting before you buy? I think it depends. If you know the area you want to buy in then I would have no problem buying. But if you want to get a feel for the neighborhoods first I would rent.

Lived in Hinsdale and moved here decades ago. I prefer the midwest people, hard to make friends here everybody comes and goes. Housing prices are out of the reach of most pilgrims. Massive building projects but no new roads. Beaches often packed and lots closed before 10 in the summer.

Awesome video! I come to SD often (zonie haha) and moving in the next 6-9 months. I agree 50k is doable (after taxes) for a single person with very little debt, people are very friendly (most), food & entertainment seem to be very reasonable, quality of life is way better & agree living coastal not a huge need for air but inland yes (sometimes), ps this video cracked me up at the end 😂 looking at eachother. Lol and yes people there are bugs but NOT like the south or Midwest haha.

Bern (short for Bernie? you're not alone, once in college, used to be called Bert. Now I go by Berty by this cute couple and another cute couple and their family in Madeira Canyon - Henderson, NV. I wouldn't take some of those questions seriously, especially the one 'looking at each other'. No need to apologize. That was obviously a dumb negative vibe remark. I am curious to know how Bern made it a year at LAX to survive on $20,000+ one year? haha :)

Extremely curious on how this works out for you, as an LCPC in Maine I was also curious on what it would take to switch my license to California as it would be a dream to buy/rent a home in Carlsbad. Hopefully is a smooth process for you!
@robertuceda51214 жыл бұрын
@@codycorey2593 great question. You can pursue the avenue of experienced professional under the California Board of behavioral science. My LPC being recent needs to wait at least a year for me to eligible, and the same applies for anyone with an out of state license (Maine as well). If you already had your LCPC active for more than a year, then you probably have a shot faster than me.
