One perspective I haven't heard addressed is that even without having kids your body can change from your 20's to 30's and beyond even while keeping a healthy lifestyle. I eat much healthier now and exercise more than in my 20's but I realize I'm never going to be the weight and measurements I was, as that would not serve me at this point in my life. I still appreciate how my body looks, it's just different. There are so many combinations of pleasing proportions for bodies and I think the variation is what makes them beautiful. I've had so much mental growth and change through the years and it makes sense that my physical body would do the same. The joy comes from taking care of it now so it can serve me for many years to come.

If it has weight loss or WIEIAD in the title, I skip it on principle. But I totally want a postpartum “How I Cared for My Body” video, with eating & work out content!! Does that make sense? Lol. Basically I want the video about what you did and why you did it, but without the trope of postpartum weight loss as the goal. You are so great at listening & responding to how socials change over time. You really meet the moment Kristin & I love ya for it!!

There is a lightness in the way that you speak (both in your words but literally in your voice too) compared to a year or even a few months ago. While I can't even imagine how hard mothering is and probably doesn't feel this way all the time, you were absolutely made for motherhood. You shined when he came in that room and it looks and feels like the world isn't so heavy for you anymore. I'm so happy for you

Hi Kristin, love this laid back/real Q&A, so refreshing :) also I wanted to say you probably hear a lot of compliments like 'wow you're so pretty' but obviously feeling good about yourself and your body is something that needs to come from within, and getting rude comments can get into your head. I hope you don't feel pressure to look a certain way because of your job or social media, I watch your video's because they feel very real and funny and make me happy :) and just a random compliment: you're a great storyteller!! X from Belgium

I would say post the video. I would love to see. I am 2 months postpartum and really excited to get back into working out and into healthy eating habits. Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding are SO intense on the body and prioritizing physical health to feel better is a huge boost. And I just love the transparency with your audience!
@sharonhughesjohnson1192 жыл бұрын
You gave birth shortly after I got pregnant, and I just wanted to say that you sharing your experience with body image while being pregnant and postpartum has really helped me. I have also been “small” my whole life, and was worried about weight gain. You provided a realistic “picture” of someone going through the physical changes that pregnancy brings, and I’ve really appreciated that!
@jacquelinevandevere52262 жыл бұрын
Love all your videos, Kristin :) I agree with a lot of these comments. Hearing about your postpartum fitness journey could be interesting but I think it would really be helpful to not mention numbers. Even hearing your lowest weight in this video, like I’m not sure if it’s actually helpful for any reason and likely is more triggering. Of course you were just sharing info and that’s totally nice of you but I just know numbers are very hard for many people. You are so talented and sweet and I look so forward to watching you be a mother. Totally unrelated to your look- in all phases of life, it’s fun to watch you because you are a sweet person…and that makes the most impact :) ❤️❤️

I’m wondering if instead of weight-focused, you could do a video on how you invested in the balance of your health after birth. When you’re 98% focused on another being, that’s an incredible journey finding the time to care of your whole self so that in turn you can pour from your cup.

I will say to everyone reading through comments: social media is so toxic. I had Facebook and Instagram for years but after deciding to get off both I've never been more happy or peaceful! Of course true happiness and peace only come from knowing God. But not having social media has been wonderful. No comparing myself to anyone! No more unrealistic expectations. So if anyone is thinking of getting off social media, I'd say go for it!! Only thing I have on my phone is KZbin, so I can watch people like Kirstin :)

My husband texted me while I was watching this video- I’m currently holding my new born son in the nicu, asking if we could start going to church together as a family. 🥺 idk why but I feel like watching your videos & keeping your positive light in my life has strengthened my faith so much & I think my husband is starting to see it as well. So thank you 🤍🙏🏼
@annewhittemore37712 жыл бұрын
My second son was in the nicu for 4 months. Don’t get too caught up in the Facebook groups like I did! For me it became a terrible comparison cycle where either their situation didn’t seem as hard as mine so I was annoyed by their reactions they were sharing, OR it was way more intense than my sons situation and it made me feel like my emotions weren’t valid. Either way it wasn’t helpful! That’s just my own reaction to it, obviously. It’s a really intense time hormonally and mentally. How are you doing?? I felt a ton of grief throughout it all. And my body was grieving on a deep level even when my son was “okay” because my body instinctively thought my baby had died. Our bodies don’t understand that now we have nicus. 🤣 It’s a very unnatural thing to have to process, no matter how grateful we are for the lifesaving miracles that happen!! I’ll be praying for comfort for you. ❤️❤️

I would vote no to posting a weight loss vid only bc as someone who has had 2 children and my body still isn’t “back to normal” (though I’m learning to be fine with it), I can totally see how a video like that could be triggering to a new mom. Your channel is so sweet and a breath of fresh air, and I feel like there’s already so many pp weight loss videos on here, it just may do more harm than good 🤍

Thank you for doing this video Kristin! :) I would say, if you were to do a video about postpartum weight, I wouldn't do a stereotypical "here's what my fitness routine looked like, here's how long it took me to get to ____, look, it is possible to look great!" video. If anything, I'd just have a sit down talk where you get real about it. Really, if anything. I just think it's hypocritical when people say it's not about your body going "back to normal", it's about being healthy and comfortable in your own skin and learning to love and accept your body--and then they basically show you how they look the same as they did pre-pregnancy (or better), and showing you all these fitness things they're doing. I don't know why, it just rubs me the wrong way.

Loved this q & a! Good questions ☺️ Personally, I don’t care for post partum weight loss videos and specific details. I don’t mind tips and videos on how to get back into shape (exercises and food), but details like how much someone weighed seems kind of irrelevant because everyone is different and it makes me want to compare. I think we need to stop focusing on our weight around our pregnancy. We are so programmed to think that we have to “get back to our bodies pre-baby”. I think it’s so harmful.
