Questions surround stadium talks between the city of Jacksonville and the Jaguars

While the Jags season is over, we want to know what’s next for the so-called “Stadium of the Future.” Will the team play at EverBank Stadium or somewhere else during renovations?

A renovated stadium would be nice and all, but couldn't the city use the billion the Jags would force the taxpayer to try to improve as much of the city as they can? I'd rather see the billion dollars go to improve the roads and other infrastructure around town.

We already have roads and there's nothing wrong with them. We don't have entertainment and a stadium. So no, we aren't going to buy another road just for you. I'd suggest moving to a place that has a shiny new road.

@@smartmaxwell9017 you make it sound like roads are the only underlying issue. You can build up downtown without upgrading the stadium. The problem is that no one wants to do that unless the Jaguars get what they want. "Hey we'll make downtown Jacksonville the best in the country, BUT you gotta give us $2 billion for a stadium upgrade? That's insanity. Having a football team is more important than the comfort and well being of citizens. (Sarcasm)

How about we fix the potholes on roads across the city. Or the traffic lights losing power. What about using that money to create a more robust public transit system? It's funny people don't want to use tax money (other peoples money) for important things for the community, but would rather use it for a stadium that benefits a couple dozen people. If you don't want taxes to go to young adults for college tuition, then how is that any different to giving money to the nfl??????? 😐

Yea uhhh the Stadium is owned by the city....not the NFL. So its investing in one of our properties. Shad Khan is fronting half to update OUR citys property.

@@Jaxboy86 What are you investing in? Last time I checked the Jaguars don't benefit the city at all. "It will bring in jobs". Why isn't the team bringing in jobs now? Jax beaches, st johns town center, and River City are some of the best things (but not all) Jacksonville has to offer. Yes the city owns the stadium, but why not use tax money to build up downtown? And I mean really improving the area that makes people want to go downtown rather than avoiding it like the plague.

@@SundrenchedLinen lmao the Jags themselves employ roughly 500 ppl. Thousands of ppl on game day. You have FL/GA to retain in Jax that brings millions in revenue to the city annually. You have more concerts that will want to come to a new venue. You have professional soccer matches that said they will come. You have the London connection that has already brought jobs to Jax. You have a bigger venue for the AEW. You have the 4Seasons being built across the street thats relying on this renovation (4SEASONS itself brings huge business). The sports entertainment district they want to build will create more jobs. This will boost the area and get business to build down at the ship yards. Thus growing downtown.
