I think the saving grace for areas like this is online TV although the broadband connection must be good.

Thanks for video, informative as always 😊 On the aerial amp do you terminate the unused outputs? Mixed opinions on line as some installers do and others don’t terminate. Keep up the good work.

Thanks mate. It was a bit of a rushed one and I was shattered so not my best. I just wanted to get something posted as it has been too long. No I don’t terminate the unused outputs, they are enclosed within the casing anyway. There’s just no need to in a domestic setting like that.

@@aardvarkinstalls Thanks for coming back to me, I tried terminating a 6 output f plug amp and didn’t seem to make any visible difference and measured the same. Your videos always look very professional and well edited and nothing else like it on this side of the pond. Antenna Man on You Tube is not really relevant to us. Be good to contrast different aerials at same location at some point Log v Hi gain yagi etc.

I am in in North Lincolnshire. I have a legacy 18 element contract aerial pointed at Emley Moor but also receive viewable signals from Bilsdale and Belmont off the back and side of the aerial (distribution amplifier in loft). Hence a log would reduce my regional TV options given it is more directional with a deep null to the side and reduced pick up from the back of the aerial. I am a fan of logs and have installed for friends in house lofts and they work well with little pick up of internal noise and, as you demonstrate, where the signal is marginal they often work (better than a yagi) with an amplifier. Look forward to your aerial comparison as I think it will really help your subscribers and others. Incidentally, as a licence ham radio operator, I found that when first licenced I was getting rfi whenever I transmitted on the 2m (145mhz) band despite my TV and 2m antenna being 5m apart. Turned out to be an old Tv amplifier in the loft (circa early 2000s) with poor screening. A new screened replacement sorted the rfi issue but just goes to show how far interference travels and at that time I was only using 5w! Best Neil
