Quick and Easy: Tightening a Loose Chain on a Stihl HT75 Polesaw

The chain on your polesaw or chainsaw must have the proper tension for safe and effective operation. Before retensioning the chain, shut off the engine. Loosen the nut on the side of the chain bar. Making sure the chain fits into the groove of the bar, turn the tensioning screw clockwise until the chain snugly fits against the bar. It must be possible to slide the chain along the bar by hand. Tighten down the nut firmly, and you are ready to go.
