Good video. Quick question; could I substitute mineral oil for the sanding solution?

Yes but make sure your wipe off as much mineral oil as possible. Since it evaporates pretty fast and does not stay in the wood, it can disturb whatever topcoat finish you apply.

Watched your video about bottle stoppers. Just finishing one made of wood from cinnamon tree, very white soft wood. I had to redo the threads with glue. Is there a finish which makes the wood stronger. I am concerned the stopper will wear quickly. Mahalo

Add fiberglass dust in two-part epoxy, then add two coats over the soft wood. Buff to a nice shine.

Use of soft woods makes threading difficult. There are a couple of ways around the problem. 1. drill a 5/8" inch hole in the base and fill it with epoxy. Give it about three days to set, then drill and tap the epoxy. Epoxy threads very well. 2. Check out the thread inserts on the Ruth Niles website (or any other 3/8"-16 insert). Those are fast and easy. 3. Minwax Wood Hardener will toughen up the wood after the hole is drilled and before you tap it.

what is the diff. between pen plus finishing and DOC-104 Walnut Oil/Carnauba Wax & Shellac Woodturning Finish? which is better for a finish products like razor and brush handle?

The burls I turn always look better when done in crystal clear resin. Coloring it takes away from the beauty of the wood in my opinion. THe clear makes it look like a mountain range.
