I absolutely love your accent and your genuine desire to help us more mature ladies look our best with minimal effort. You are such a gorgeous lady! I, like you, am a bit of a perfectionist so I have a hard time doing a minimal makeup look. I actually enjoy putting on my makeup and feel I look better with it on. I have finally gotten to the point I don’t feel I need it while my husband and I are camping. But it takes a lot of effort on my part not to wear my makeup. I always travel with all my products. I think this kit is perfect for someone like me. Time is not on my side each morning. I would pack about 7 items, sunscreen/moisturizer, liquid foundation, Ben Nye neutral set, cream blush, eye shadow, mascara and curler. Finish with lipstick. The size of the items and carrying case looks great. For me it looks like a light day, touch ups at work or vacation when you are not using too much makeup. I have oily skin and if they don’t have an eye or face primer which helps the stick shadow and foundation stay on for me the shadow sticks fade in about 2 hours and look like I have nothing on. I’m game to try them out.

I usually travel quite a lot so packing light and still having every thing at hand is key. The kit seemed very clever and I love the included applicators, however I often use my fingers, so not essential. My favourites for years have been the Clinique chubby sticks - never have to worry about products leaking. I like the blue & white container though and I might look for something similar for by travel items. 😍

I tend to use my fingers more than my makeup tools. I believe the warmth from my hands helps me to blend my makeup better or it may go back to my much younger days when makeup tools weren't very accessible. I try not to take more than the very basic makeup needed on a trip, maybe 5 or 6 items but that doesn't include my skin care items.

When I was young, I used to model, and the makeup artists could only get their brushes from art supply stores! I used to use my fingers a lot, i use a combo now. Traveling with skin care is another story for sure, I do bring a lot!

I also prefer my fingers. I wash my hands while washing my face, so both are clean and dry when I begin applying. Makeup brushes, OTOH, may not be either of those things. I was washing foundation and concealer brushes after every use, but that accelerated aging of the brushes. Clean fingers and, if absolutely necessary, a clean, damp, 1x use makeup sponge for blending works just fine!

Since Covid is on the rise, I'm not sure about getting together with the family, my daughter has had a babysitter, so we couldn't "pod" anymore - THEN the babysitter got COVID! She is OK. I love the idea of quick, simple makeup, especially lately, with no place to be and limited people daily to see. I really do enjoy putting on my makeup, though, but lately, with the quarantine/pandemic, I turn to a very much trimmed-down regimen. As for me, I think I could get along with foundation, concealer, blush, one basic eye shadow color, liner, brow color and mascara (seven items) if I was pressed to be simple and streamlined. P.S. - There’s nothing wrong with being a perfectionist 😊 As always, I’m keeping an eye on your growing-out-curly hair. Looks great!

I’m in the UK and after watching this video, out of curiosity, I decided to see if was available here. On Amazon, the refillable eyeshadow crayon alone costs a whopping £78.48 for one! The makeup itself looks lovely and the colours are great. But at those prices I think I will have to stick with my usual favourite brands lol. Beautiful, as usual! In my carry-on bag: tinted, moisturizing sunscreen (that i build up where needed), blush, mascara, brow pencil. (I use the blush for lipstick (w/whatever moisturizer the hotel supplies if my lips are dry). I use a washcloth, my fingers, or a spoon, run under warm water then held to my lashes to curl them a bit). I keep it really simple! I never thought I'd leave the house that way, but age & retirement have a way of changing things! P.S. please don't touch the blush to your lips - use clean fingers! I know several people who transferred cold sores to their face/eyes. One even blinded by it!

I love this question! suppose every item is a different score, so comparing to the best makeup I've ever used, here goes: Foundation stick - 8, concealer stick 8, blush 7.5, eyeshadow 9, eyeliner 10, mascara 8, lip color 9 bear in mind this is coming from a picky makeup artist who rarely gives any company a 10 lol! BTW I have been posting every 2 weeks ;-D

I notice you use a brown brow colour. I also have very grey (i.e. white) hair, and anything with a warm tone looks terrible on me. Is it just me? Is there a product you would recommend? Hi Kerry, I'm trying to slowly work through your videos. I'm afraid that I am the absolute worst when it comes to make up. As I've grown older, I've grown to dislike how I look with makeup because it only seems to highlight my lines and wrinkles, especially around my eyes which are large and deep set. So, you can imagine my frustration at trying to conceal the dark circles and lines under my eyes, and finding they instead look more pronounced as the concealer gets trapped in the 'folds' of the lines and wrinkles. No amount of blending ever seems to be enough. 😔 As a result, other than the occasional mascara, I've pretty much given up makeup altogether. I even feel I look strange with a little bit of lipstick. It makes me sad in a way because when I was younger I enjoyed how I looked and felt when I dressed up and put on some makeup. It was a pretty, put-together look. Have you any tips on how to address the large deep set eyes without having the concealer 'getting caught' in the lines? What brands would work best for that? I likely still will not wear makeup on a daily basis, but it sure would be nice to have a basic simple makeup routine to make myself look and feel more 'human' and put-together every so often. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment! I think I'm going to have to make a video for everything you've described. Regarding your deep set eyes issue, think about correcting, perhaps with a peachy/orange tone concealer - they go on a bit orange, but they end up correcting the darkness. Perhaps you could try on at Sephora, walk around a bit and see if it holds up without creasing?

I’m not an expert on the fillers under the eyes. I have done make up on some women who have had fillers under the eyes, and it looked kind of uneven and even a bit lumpy. Bear in mind that was a long time ago, and I think fillers get better all the time. there are some fantastic concealers, peach colored “correctors” are good for darkness under eyes. When COVID is over, I will find a model that has dark under eyes that I can do a video with.
