2:22 its even easier if you connect the primery coil to the 2 wire that aren't connected to a big green capacitor

Regular *electronic* ballasts also work and obviously will tend to be more robust. 30-50 W seems reasonable but I wouldn't use anything bigger than that.

Dude these things open up with a flat blade screwdriver. Put it in the slot and twist and they pop open.

A trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.

@Talon Van yea, been using Flixzone for since november myself =)

Hey, great videos, this is one of my favorite channels to watch, keep up the good work. You inspired me to make my own channel and I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some advice on how to get it started! Thanks!!

Won't work for me. Do you think it would work if i used a 150-190 v dc ballast?
@vanshsantoshi75336 жыл бұрын
yea seems fine to me ....ballast are better actually

Could a ballast be used to drive a tesla coil?
@whatelseison89702 жыл бұрын
Not directly, but the output from the flyback potentially could. On the other hand supposedly a lightly modified ZVS driver can drive an SSTC if the coils and primary cap are appropriately sized. See SciTubeHD's channel for deets.

sir ihave j0501-9185 flyback is this type of flyback works on cfl driver?
@ClevelandStorms8 жыл бұрын
andreiruiz143 I cannot tell you if the driver will work based upon the type of flyback you have. it all depends on the type of CFL bulb you use

i broke one of these when i was little.. and im autistic. is it possible that this caused it?
@ClevelandStorms7 жыл бұрын
Isaac Westawski I'm not sure about that one. Online research says that it starts in very early brain development, so if you broke it before two years of age, maybe. I'll keep researching because that's very interesting

how volt need?
@CrazyKsie6 жыл бұрын
Just use a small flatblade screwdriver and. Lever the bulb in half. Way way easier.

I'm confused by measuring resistance on my flyback transformer trying to find the primary coil! From pin 1 to pins 2, 3 and 4 I have the same value of 1,3 ohm! Between 2 and 3, 3 and 4 is 0,4 ohm! Between 5 and 6 is 0,4 ohm! Between 6 and 7 is 0,6 ohm! So where's the primary coil pins???
@imagine_laabs7 жыл бұрын
ulpijana73 go with 1 ohm
@balanbogdan91607 жыл бұрын
Just connect an resonant capacitor in parallel with primary! You can get around 30 Kv from that stuff
@ClevelandStorms7 жыл бұрын
Damn. Never thought to do that with a CFL... Gotta make an update video now!

I've even had impressive results using the cap built in to the ballast. Just join the pairs of wires from each end of the tube together and keep your wires short. The only downside is that your transistors will get hot pretty quick. Without the cap you can usually run indefinitely but with the cap you can only really do short bursts. Heatsinking the transistors can help but only so much.

What kind of cap I tried a 104k 400v parallel no luck...
@balanbogdan91602 жыл бұрын
@@jcxperts try a smaller value like 10nF or 1nF, maybe 100nF is too much to create a resonant circuit with the primary coil.
