Very pretty result, Heidi! The petal also shows depth; nice effect. Thank you for showing another way to use gel pens!

Thank you my friend! I just came across this a while ago on YT--there are other videos out there about it--and had to try it out. It's true, I do like to try out different things all the time. That's one of the things I really love about your channel too! ❤

Thanks Heidi, I've tried similar techniques using glycerin and gel pens, but I put the gel pen down first, then stretched the ink out with the glycerin. It makes a really nice effect, I think I prefer it to just straight gel pen. I'd never really given paper quality much thought, but it is something I will bear in mind for future projects. ❤❤

interesting! I can see this technique working in the Lulu Mayo books - they have that slick paper. Although I've heard the Tarot book's paper is a bit different.

Yeah, give it a try! I haven't tried it in those books. Could work. :)

Great demo. I wonder if the paper/page could be prepped with clear gel medium to help the paper. Like gesso does for oil paints. 🤷 Matte or glossy would probably work. Depending on the artists preference.
