Thanks so much for the glycerin tip. My daughter-in-law found that she really enjoyed the medium of gel pens...which was AMAZING since she typically is not into artsy things like I am. But she hated that the finished product looked so stripy. I suggested water and a brush, but it just ruins normal coloring book pages because, as you know, the paper is not made for it. So she’ll be so happy when I suggest the tip of laying down the glycerin and then coloring it with the gel pen. Genius! Thanks again.

for hand pain, you might try a wrist brace, I know it sounds funny, but it does help to hold your wrist straight, which helps the nerves stay aligned; I had carpal tunnel surgery twice 1x in each hand, and after I recovered, I still found my hands hurting when I typed a lot, or painted, or whatever, but if I put on my old braces it got better, it's worth a try anyway, also, I had an occupational therapist who told me to use foam curlers over pens, pencils, etc, much cheaper than the real ting

I love coloring with glitter gel pens. I have found that the neon pens are harder to get a super easy flow and it’s really hard to get them to not show streaks. To combat this, I take a dry Qtip and blend them in. It gives it a great “stained glass look”. I would love to use glycerin and see what that does for it.

Hi! It was so nice to have this video playing in the background whilst I was doing swatches (I do very detailed swatches for all my pens - just focusing on gel pens for most of the last year and just doing the final few packs I’ve bought this year. I do swatch charts by brand and am then going to also do a chart for each of the different colours by types on their own, eg I’ll do Pink in all of my gel pen brands/sets in Classic, another page of all the pinks in Neons that I have, all the pastel pinks on another page etc. it’s an enormous task as I have hundreds of gel pens in all the different brands, singular purchases etc. It’s a huge job but it will end up making it a LOT faster in the future when I’m doing a colouring job and I want say a very particular pink colour, for example. My swatch pages have actually started to become an art project of their own). But yeah I spend so much of my time alone, it was great to feel like I had “company”. You guys are all so nice - the kind of people you wish were your friends 💖 Anyway, I noticed you mentioned Ashleigh (? not sure re spelling) and that she was using “The Gel Writer” Gel Pens, at one point. I’ve tried to google that brand and nothing seems to come up. Is Gel Writer a particular brand and, if so, do you know where I could purchase any? Thanks and I really like your videos - they are fun but also very educational. Love from Australia 🇦🇺

Hi. Very pretty coloring. I don’t know much about gel pens but can you tell me all the ways or the most popular ways to use gel pens. Thanks!
@kirstencourtney87926 жыл бұрын
Hello! I find fancy gel pen coloring fascinating and am learning the methods myself so can't tell you much yet, but I can tell you that in my case, I find simply filling in the color in the space is the most therapeutic for gel pen coloring therapy for anxiety and stress. I try not to focus on the "art" of it, but rather the process and feel of the flow of the gel as I fill in the space. I find it "satisfying" I guess and it helps me relax and process my thoughts. The little bit of the artsy part that I do focus on somewhat is trying to find colors that go well together and I think glitter pens have a beautiful look. I also prefer to outline the inside edge of the coloring area to help keep from going over the lines. I prefer pens that are very juicy and thick and fill in the spaces faster with less "lines" showing up when it dries. I find the glitter and metallic pens are best for this. I prefer the Gel Writers so far for this from the types I have tried. I think the Jelly Roll pens have beautiful glitter colors but the tips tend to tear up the paper for the type of coloring I do. Although I mostly color for therapy, I've found that I also like art, and am excited to learn more techniques for when I'm coloring just for art! Enjoy your journey!

Glycerine comes in two forms, both are chemically identical, what differs is the source of the chemical. It comes from either Pig/Cow fat, or vegetable oil, hence the standard glycerine and vegetable glycerine.

+Rocifer64 stretch your hands out before during and after colouring, it can help. You can also consider using shaped pencil grips. Massaging with arnica gel can help when you get the hand pain. Work with layering colour rather than pressing harder. Using circular motions rather than forward and back or side to side can help too.

I started with crayons, worked up to the largest box of colors, then twistsables, pencils, markers, but when I hit gel pens...now I'm addicted to them. So many colors, so much glitter, so many varieties, so much smoothness! 😲 And sometimes I can't even stop coloring now. 😭😂
