Quick & Easy Collage Envelopes

Hi everyone, thanks for joining Leo and I. Today we're making collaged flip envelopes, inspired by the fabulous Tracie Fox and Rachel at Roxy Creations. Those are fun, but... one thing... if you cut a thumb notch out of both sides of a pocket, it nullifies the purpose... to help you get ahold of the edge 😕

SimpLee Beth i do thé notch for a couple reasons, I really like how it looks on both sides as the pocket is a flip and it shows that this is a tuck spot. Thanks

Hello Wendy, not sure how this video showed up in my feed, but I’m so happy it did. 😋😋 I’m new to journaling and collage, you referenced people and products I’m not familiar with... Tracy Fox, Rachel Roxy.... I like your paper containers and this was a fun project. Now I have to start saving junk mail envelopes, didn’t realize there was a use for them, and I love recycling. I like the chatting in videos instead of music, it feels like crafting with a friend. 🐞

“Seat of the pants crafting!” Love it! 😂😂. These envelopes are so cute! It’s funny because I just got a whole box from work (they were going to throw them out because the window was on the wrong side!!) looks like I’ll be busy lol. Love your little ephemera storage idea too. Quick tip I saw from Pam (the Paper Outpost)....she puts a magnet on her glue bottle, then when she removes the needle, she sticks it on the magnet and it doesn’t get lost! Were those butterflies a stamp, then you put it on muslin, or did they come that way?? Love them!! TYFS! 💜🦋❤️

I love what you did to the envelopes. I think they turned out beautiful. Sense it's late, I'm going to save this video and watch it again so I can make a couple of them. You are so creative. I like that about you. And I love your sweet voice. Such a change from what I here all day and it's so calming for me. I've been put a freeze on spending at the moment, but hopefully it won't last too long. I'm pretty resorseful. I can make most anything that I put my mind to it. Besides junk Journals shouldn't be expensive. So they tell us. I have enough to do most projects and more. Keep it up for people like me who need the calm touch. Tracie also has that. Can't wait to watch your next tutorial.

Nice envelope technique. For larger surfaces like these I prefer to use a glue with a large applicator tip - I just don't have the patience to fiddle with a tiny glue tip. Glue sticks work great for me and they don't seem to wrinkle the paper like wet glues.

I always feel the need to reinforce the folds with washi, etc since it seems the paper may need it if the project is folded many times. How does everyone else feel?

Candy Colopy hmmm a laser jet would be best if you want to coffee dye after you print your image. However they are very expensive. I use an ink jet, HP ENVY 4620, reasonable price but I can’t print and then coffee dye. ❤️❤️

Wendy have you been able to get the glue (AGG) from Amazon. I order the larger size and refill my smaller bottles. I also was having trouble with the tips. I have heard lots of people say that after awhile they plug no matter what so I found some small bottles with tips. (10 in a pack) from amazon and they work perfectly. They are also easy to squeeze and cheap. I can have several around so I don't have to carry them from table to desk. Love the cute baby comment..... You are so sweet. Those came out nice. I love your ephemera baskets that you store your cut pieces ready to go. Do you have any video on how you organize your papers? by type or style? If I try sorting into 5 baskets I end up with 5 baskets of mixed up stuff. If I try to organize by type, like stamps, items get resorted into flower stamps, animals, buildings . Style is another way Ive tried. I still cant find anything due to cross over themes.

i'm also heavy handed with glue and would love to use a glue stick but i can't find one that will hold...do you recommend a certain brand? i end up using fabri-tac for everything but i go through it very fast and think that a glue stick would be easier and cheaper...help
