Dear Creative Grandma……I am absolutely amazed at your tutorial. I have been on you tube forever and I have NEVER, EVER found an instructor as perfect as YOU. You describe everything necessary to learn your patterns. I praise your ATTENTION TO DETAIL. There is no question you enjoy being creative, but the difference in your work and that others is your ability to pass your gift on to others. Thank you so much and I will definitely look forward to future crochet patterns.

Your tutorial just popped up on my you tube. What a blessing. Just what I had been looking for. Your tutorial may be a year old but is one of the best I remember ever watching. I have to say. Straight to the point you gave us the yarn amount hook everything and a picture of the blanket right away. Your instruction is right on covering everything even for those of us who are self taught it has been helpful. My very best response is your filming oh my it was awesome at each level. Finally starting and ending a row with picture of your hook placement. I recently watched a video where a stitch marker was placed at beginning and ending of the row like you mentioned and that has helped asI have difficulty knowing where to start and end a row. Mostly because I like a pattern or adapt a pattern and then my stitches get off. Yours was so very well explained with a visual of where you were going just wanted to thank you for your time. I will definitely use this pattern in the future and will definitely enjoy watching more of your playlist.

Glenda, you are so amazing!! I love watching your patterns. I am always blown away by how brilliant you are in showing us your patterns. You seem to be able to make ANYTHING and trust me, i admire that. I have crochet longer than i could write & spell my name. I am 66. I didn't learn how to read patterns. Truthfully, i can't read ALL patterns. The way i used to borrow a already made pattern and copied it. Limited much of my ability to make much. I also felt so stupid because i couldn't read patterns. It's ONE of the reasons i enjoy watching ppl make a pattern. So THANK YOU so much.

Wow! This is the best introduction to crochet I’ve seen. You provide tips explaining how to identify where to insert the hook (with excellent closeups). At 23:50 you also tell the viewer to move existing stitches to make room for 4 additional half double crochet stitches. Being able to “read” and manipulate stitches is valuable information. I loved knitting until an illness compromised my focus. I relied on knit nights at my local yarn store until the owner found my symptoms annoying (uncontrollable but not contagious) and told me to leave. One of my doctors suggested crochet. It’s still a challenge (plus my current baby blanket requires 5 skeins which feels never-ending). Too many crochet patterns do not specify the multiples of chains required to adjust the size - which someone new to needlework might not be able to infer - so discontinued yarn can be substituted with yarn of similar weight and yardage. Your 1-skein pattern video - with yarn which has NOT been discontinued - gives me the confidence I need to attempt this project. Thank you.
