Lemon Cordial is very refreshing & perfect for summer. Cordials are a mix of fruit, sugar, water and tartaric or citric acid which are used as a preservatives but always optional. But using these natural preservatives increases the shelf-life of the Cordial.
This is a non alcoholic drink which can be prepared easily by mixing concentrated lemon juice with just sugar & water.
Cordial with water or soda , lots of ice tinkling about the glass and maybe a few crushed mint leaves in the glass is so cool and thirst quenching !
You will love this cordial because it’s not overly sharp, or sweet and has the perfect amount of zingy tang to be refreshing. So please give it a try & let me know your feedback.

Ingredients: For 1 litre Lemon Cordial
Lemon juice 500ml ( 2 cups )
Lemon rind / zest ( yellow skin of the lemon ) 1 tbsp
Boiling water 2 cups
Sugar 2.5 - 3 cups ( depending on your taste )
Citric acid 1.5 - 2 tsp ( optional )

Notes:
1. The amount of sugar & lemon juice can be adjusted to suit your taste.
2. Do remember to use a clean & dry bowl for mixing the ingredients.
3. Use a sterilised bottle to store the Cordial & make sure it's completely free from moisture & dry.
4. While using , always remember to dilute the Cordial with water or soda.
5. It can also be used to mix with alcohols to make cocktails .
6. Using citric acid increases the shelf-life of the Cordial & stays fresh for more than 2 months.

Yes .you can have without ice .. Just mix soda or water in the ratio mentioned along with the cordial ...But if you want it to be really chilled, you can add Ice cubes. Hope it helps.. Thanks for dropping by😊
