Dear Aya, is this Buttercream too sweet? Can i reduce the sweetnees? Love from Germany
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
It is definitely very sweet, I prefer less sweet buttercream personally! You can reduce some powdered sugar but keep in mind that it makes your buttercream softer in room temperature like I mentioned in the video, especially for cakes which need to hold the shape for longer hours in room temperature sometimes. Hope that helps!!

I’ll definitely try this buttercream, honestly I hate American buttercream, not only is it too sweet but I can always feel the grainy taste to it. But unfortunately it’s the only buttercream that’s approved for food cottage law in my area 😞. I swear you and Rei are so adorable! I bet your house smells of deliciousness from all your baking 😋.

Hello! Can I use this buttercream for the sponge cake (Japanese strawberry shortcake) recipe you had in your channel? Planning to use the sponge cake with strawberry as the base but decorate it into a mermaid cake using your buttercream. Thanks!

Been watching your buttercream videos, very educational and interesting, learned a lot. I do have a question about whipping times, what’s the longest and shortest whipping times possible? Can you give rough guesstimate. I think it would help a lot. Thanks
@PastryLivingwithAya2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching videos! It depends on some facts like room temperature and the machine but I know some people only whip for about 10 second. or I usually do not whip over 5 minutes with medium speed. With that amount! Just a minute or few minutes can makes a big difference. I stops when it looks very fluffy yet still stiff enough to cover cakes or pipe.

Hi, thank you for sharing, I enjoy your videos :❤️may I know how do I stabilise this BC in my humid weather in Singapore?
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
It the room is too warm, it starts to melt slowly, so try to keep the room as cool as possible. It contains a lot of butter, so it does start melting at some point under heat unfortunately :( if it’s just humidity, it remains the condition good!

Hi. I cannot wait to try your recipe I have a question, how long can you leave butter out to get soft like yours and if still consider safe to eat? I Google it and it gives different answers lol thanks
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
Right! There are different opinions about that but it usually get soften within a few hours if the room is not chilly. When I forget to pull out butter, I use a microwave, stopping a couple times to prevent overheating inside so that butter won’t melt. That works too!
@aprilbarron99773 жыл бұрын
@@PastryLivingwithAya just saw this. Thank you for tip with the microwave. I will do that too :)
Hi how is the consistency the second day ? you keep at the room temperature right ?
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
You could. You can leave in room temperature up to around 2 days but I personally recommend to store in a fridge or freezer if you don't consume within that day to keep the freshness longer. The consistency remains same, just make sure that the room is not too warm if you leave in a room temperature so that the butter does not start melting. If you store in a fridge, leave in a room temperature for around a few hours to soften it again!
@manfz203 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you use cold double cream or room temperature okz reply
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
It works either way but when it is cold, buttercream becomes more stiff, and when it is not that cold, the buttercream gets softer. So you can adjust depending on the consistency you want. Hope that helps!

Does the sugar melt or is it still grainy and for how long should I whip
@PastryLivingwithAya3 жыл бұрын
Since it's powdered sugar, it gets blended really well especially after being beaten a lot but it is not as perfectly silky as other types of buttercream that uses heated sugar in my opinion. How long you should whip really depends on some factors like the room temperature, mixer, amount of ingredients etc. but you can stop once it gets very fluffy. For me it took about a little over a few minutes(does not include the time to clean up a bowl between).

Thankyou

Can I put less sugar? Do you have less sweet buttercream recipe? Thanks

Yes, you can reduce the amount of sugar a little bit. I shared French buttercream tutorial in the channel before which is much less sweeter!

Are you experienced with viennoiserie as well? Because I would love learning some more about bread dough pastries, and I could use your expertise😄. Im also very interested (and probably plenty of others too) to see a video on your background in patisserie, the places you've worked, and your journey(and future goals) as patissier. Thanks, love your stuff and the refinedness (:
