We’ve got old favorites, leftover makeovers, pie and even a crockpot soup, there is bound to be something you and your family will love. I made it all using lots of staples from my fridge, freezer and pantry. And as always, each one of these is quick, easy, and made with simple ingredients. Thank you for your words Mel! We must not forget we all had to learn from someone. My sweet daughter in law would not ask me for a recipe to save her life, lol. But after 3 years she finally did and boy have we bonded looking through my recipe book. Many of my recipes have who I got them from written on them and I’ve had fun telling her about that person, changes I’ve made to the recipe, and always remind her to make things her own but give credit where credits is due. I’ve also enjoyed learning some of her families recipes and hearing stories about her grandmother and aunts.

I eventually made it with left over roast beef it was good every one enjoyed it I would definitely make it again maybe this summer when I have vegtables from the garden and maybe freeze some

I used to make mine like a casserole dish also until recently. I started doing it in a Bundt pan and pressure cook it. Then I take it out and turn it upside down and put the glaze on it and broil it.

Hey Mel! I like your recipes ideas for quick and easy! I grew up on canned vegetables, even the canned Salmon, but we used Mackrel instead! Yhe difference between the two of us is, that my mother's rule is if it came from a can no one should know! So we did a lot of editing and revising on your recipes! Like if you are going to make say for instance mac and cheese from a box use the packet but add some real cheese also! My mom didn't care if it was Kraft's slices to boost the flavor and make it seem homemade! The greens drain add your onion flakes cook one slice of bacon and pour the oil in the greens, crumbled the slice of bacon and put it in you greens! I'm not even going to try with canned pinto beans because we live in Texas! We used canned beans add-ins! Say my mom had cook dry pinto beans and we didn't have enough you put a can of beans to stretch it to feed us all! The pot liquor would still be there to make them taste like homemade! I'm not trying to critique you! I'm only showing how different southern cooking is from state to state! In our household we were poor but we didn't know it because everyone was lived like we did, with the exception of my maternal grandparents they owned their own business! They were Florists! Sorry I wrote an essay but you remind me of someone I just can't put my finger on it! And if you ever would like recipes or suggestions for dinners and you don't have to tell anyone!🤔🤨🧐😉😁✌❤🙏

My daughter will be visiting this weekend & she is a vegetarian so I make the penne pasta dish without meat(we will all eat it without the meat). My family was like Urs growing up. The simple ingredients make the best and easy meals. One thing I started doing as a quick hack for meatloaf is to add a half of jar of mild salsa. I made mine like urs. But by just simply adding salsa takes it up a little bit. Thank u.

I make a meat loaf:I put a can of drain mix vegetables in it a egg and crackers, tomato ketchup,and on top I mix ketchup and brown sugar and spoon it on top of the meat loaf, about ever 15 min I put more of the ketchup and brown sugar on it,it is so good,I hope you try it,love you show,I lived in Cumberland gap ten until I got sick and had to move to va with my grandson

I LOVE your channel because you're REAL and so are your meals! You cook WITH your heart FOR your family AND your growing community of subbies. Watching you makes me happy. One of the best meatloaves I ever made had oatmeal in it. I lost the recipe and have been trying unsuccessfully to duplicate it for years. I'm going to try Mary's, and I'll be sure to use the QUICK oats. My husband has a simple palate. That's how his mom cooked. You and Mary may have a winner here.
