okay it made me so happy that you have blond roots too (weird i know). it seems like whenever people have roots showing they are darker and it actually looks decent but being someone with naturally blond hair makes having roots show look really bad. im glad im not alone in this lol

I know I am commenting 6 years late, but for really really long hair, don't form it into a center bun. Instead, twist the length below the ponytail holder until it looks like a long rope, and then starting from the bottom accordion fold it in ~8" segments. That resulting bundle of hair then becomes your rat! Center it, and then fully tuck it into the "pouch" of hair above the elastic. Pin around it to form your roll.
