Legend, you’ve just saved me a fortune. After 3 weeks of no hot water I replaced pcb (thankfully a cheap eBay second) and still failed. Put on my big girl pants to have a go myself in the depths of the scary boiler beast and Venturi was completely blocked. Quick cocktail stick and pipe cleaning and now fires again, better than before. Very grateful you enabled me to fix myself with zero boiler knowledge. Thank you!

We have exactly same issue did you try the suck the tube thing first or just clean the Venturi straight away?

Mate! I can’t thank you enough for this. It’s 19:00 on the day before Christmas Eve, people coming to stay and the boiler stopped. This fixed the problem, easy. The spigot was blocked. Thank you so much!

Nice video. Just been to customers house which has the same issue. Thought it was the air pressure switch as when sucking on the tube nothing happens. Bit weary to change as they don't fail often.

GG , What a legend you are. Did power flush 13 rads. Open Vent system. Left everything fine . CH / DHW , Morning after . Got call boiler went onto lockout . Could be Airlock. boiler fires up / cuts off . potterton Suprima . Please help 🙏 Thanks

Great video….. did all what you showed and new PCB board too, however my fan doesn’t spin as shown in yours? Tries to light but cuts out and red light still flashing 2 times per second. Any advice?

Thank you for your great video. Suprima 60 getting locked out few time in a day but working when switch off and turn back on . It started after a plumber replaced pump a month ago. Any idea what is the cause Please?

Hi boss. Thanks for your video. I’ve got a Potterton suprima 40 and it does the same as described above, but I think it flashes red a little slower compared to vídeo above. After resetting (maybe 3 to 10min) boiler’s light flesh red again, but sometimes it does not shut off, other times it does. There’s not consistency, why? Could it be NTC thermistors? Thanks

I’ve got same boiler and I think it’s called kettling. The boiler lights up fine and can see the flame, then theirs a clunking noise about a min in and the flame goes out. The boiler release the sequence. Then the red lights started coming on. And the boiler is still trying to flash green and start the sequence again. We had hot water but radiators not heating up.

@@Stevenmillar01 thanks, when I turn the gas/pilot? down, it doesn't make any noise anymore. It still heats up (heating/hot water) just a lot slower. If I turn the gas/flame higher it starts to make that 'kettling' noise

@@theeroom Steven Millar you've both got circulating issues. Water heated by the boiler not going around quick enough. One is worse than the other.

Suprima 100L Same problem get spark but no start up. Checked the venturi valve as video but the 100L looks nothing like yours. Only 1 cm long within fan and opening full dia size 3mm. Is that correct?

I have just had the exact fault, first the gas engineer replaced the air pressure switch but the boiler would still not light. I found a small feather was actually inside the fan so as the fan spun the feather was sucked in to the hole and prevented the pressure switch from working. The gas engineer pushed a small Allen key through the pipe and said it was clear and it must be the fan not creating enough air pressure. After he left I removed the pipe and found a small feather, removed the feather and it worked.

Hi I have the same boiler recently started giving me trouble . Red light keeps flashing and when press reset button for 5 seconds it runs on but only for few minutes and then starts making rattling noises few times and then agains back to red flashing light ,hot water but no central heating I can touch both pipes on my radiators and both are cold , bled the air from radiators but still the same .any help would be appreciated

Hi mate, I’ve got an issue with the boiler flashing amber and green, boiler lights for about 5/10 seconds then shuts off, it does that a few times before locking out flashing red

PCB not giving the gas valve enough voltage to lift it sounds like, would expect 240volt AC on gas valve. Hence why ur getting spark but no flame.

Is there any right or wrong way to adjust the burner flame, I adjusted mine to temporarily to reduce the kettling before the heat exchanger was replaced. And can't remember what it was set to Originally 😅

Try spraying some lube into the bits that should spin and turn the fan by hand when it's not on. It might need some encouragement once it switches on so use a tool so you don't catch your fingers in it.
