Beautiful surroundings, great shots! Your video is a good example of how having an "ordinary toy" you can create a professional-looking video that keeps the viewer on the screen every second. 💯👏 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow - what a, strong beginning to an RC car video. It's intensely gratifying to see a Holiday Buggy being given enough power to really romp and play in the wilds of Mid-Wales. I love the slightly incongruous sight of a buggy which I associate with sand dunes hurling great clods of earth around as it charges over hill and Dale, all in the shadow of those terrifying giant horses. Their silent, brooding presence adds an air of indefinable menace to the scene. What are they thinking? What do they want? Great cinema...
@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Жыл бұрын
WHAT DO ANY OF THEM WANT?! It's terrifying. I was planning to run this on the beach, and probably still will, though I think I need to wait until dogs aren't allowed (through the summer) to avoid having a 900-strong pack of them chasing it. 👍

@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Yes - poor little Holiday Buggy; it wouldn't be very much fun for it to be pursued by a giant pack of monstrous slavering hounds!

Love it, Steve! So glad you got one and to hear how much you are enjoying it. As you say, for an entry level buggy it's pretty amazing and handles better than you'd expect (especially after ditching those "fiction" shocks and just looks sooooo cooool to boot! You got some great high-speed captures out there. Nice to see the horses enjoying the spectacle, too! All the best, mate! 😎👏✌👍

One thing you didn't mention about changing - I hope you fitted a steel pinion?!?!?! With all that power the stock cheese pinion is gonna melt!!!! 🤣🤣
@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Жыл бұрын
The horses were desperate to have a go but, you know... hooves. What can you do? But yes, with a bit of pep in the back of this chassis and those impressive shocks it was fantastic fun, and took some (accidental) abuse as well - a couple of off-camera crashes were so big I genuinely cringed, but nothing broke. And it does look cool. Basically it looks like the RCs of my childhood and goes like I wanted them to! 😎👍
@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Жыл бұрын
I had to think about that but yes, I had to get one for the bigger motor shaft and to suit one of the two mounting options. I went for the smaller one - 17t, maybe? So I've used me loaf and avoided the cheese and any pickle that might have got me into, though for some reason now I'm hungry. 🤷

Nice video(I've watched it twice now). Reminded me of the old Tamiya vids. This is one of my fav Tamiya's. I bought 2. One for display and the other to bash. I finally managed to find/fit some road tyres to it today and got set to take it out for a test drive and discovered my charger had died on me. Grhhh.

Fantastic footage! I recently built up a Holiday Buggy and love the way it handles. I'd like to add a little pep to it though. Currently, I have a 540 (23t) motor, the Carson ESC that came with the kit, a 3000 NiMh battery, and a 19T steel pinion. It runs really well, but I'd like to give it a pep in speed! Do you happen to have a link for the ebay brushless one you went for? And did you need to change any other parts to make it all work? Thanks in advance! Love the scenery in mid Wales, too!
@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! These chassis really are surprisingly fun to drive. I'm afraid I don't have a link for the brushless as it came via a friend, but there are loads of cheap ones on ebay - Surpass stuff seems good, in my experience. I didn't change anything else except the shocks (I put the oil-filled upgrade ones on from the start), and if you've already fitted a 540 then a brushless will drop right in. Worth looking into lipo batteries, too - a 2S would be a lot lighter, for a start, and 3S makes things go like crazy...
