where are you based ? we lived in Newtown for 30 years and have now moved to haverfordwest . I do plastic and also r/c boats tanks and cars .

Most of these were filmed in the Black Mountains as we used to live near Brecon, but these days I'm in West Wales a little way inland from New Quay. How're you finding Haverfordwest? It's nice down that way! (my nearest rc racing club is in Carew). I'm often quite tempted by tanks as well... and boats. And planes. Anything RC, really!

Sorry for the late comment. I didn't get a notification for this one. I've just seen it on eBay which brought me here. I personally prefer the Trooper but this is another very nice looking RC from RGT/FTX, and I do like the way they're including interior, inner fenders and lights as standard now.

Ha ha no worries, sorry for the late reply! Apparently this is pretty much the chassis from the long-wheelbase Land Cruiser they did, so it's much more complex again than the Trooper. Don't think FTX will be doing this one... shame really, as it's another very impressive truck. Neither RGT or FTX seem to have the cachet to get many people over here interested at this kind of price, sadly. It's an impressive thing (insta-rust lower links aside... seriously, I took this out of the bag when I got home from filming and there was literally already surface rust on them!). Cheers! It's a stock truck - RGT did a version before, but this one has the brushless motor (a lovely Hobbywing Fusion unit) and some other changes.

If that's where it got used, then yes - I filmed this for RGT a while back. I did one for their new Pathfinder too, which I'll post soon.

That truck is a banger - sure it's quite a TRX4 copy, but that's not necessarily bad when it's done so well. And the body is way better than Traxxas manages.

Thanks! I can't honestly comment, as I've never had the RC4WD version to compare it with. I've enjoyed this a lot, though, and for years. Plus it's significantly cheaper than the American one, which as far as I know is made in the far East anyway...

With this platform, you could quite easily take a rally/desert-style route. I have a CC-01, and I found a few issues myself, and I did my best to rectify them or improve the car. That was a fair few years ago, but I've always kept the car and plan to bring it back to life soon. I have a couple of axial crawlers and enjoy using them on the more challenging terrain. I also have a leaf-sprung Rc4wd trailfinder1/trail stomper, which I'm building into a 60-series land cruiser.

Yeah, despite all my feelings about the chassis, this car has turned into one of my favourites. It's the least capable truck I own by quite a long way, but (now I've heavily modded and repainted it) just weirdly good fun! PS: A 60 series sounds like an awesome choice!
