This is the correct course of treatment. Do not use spray killer because they will hide and not eat the food. Once they are gone which will take about a mon to 1.5 months and after you no longer see them apply bug killer. I do this when I see the 1st Roach last time I had roaches it was 7 years ago. It works.

Boric acid sold in Home Depot works very well for me over the years. My condo remained bug (cockroach) free until I moved out of state for a job and rented it for a short period. When I visited the condo, it appeared as if the tenant was keeping a roach farm. From I entered the door, roaches were hurling themselves at me and flying like Ninja warriors across the kitchen! They were in the fridge, in bedrooms, all over! I was so shocked and disgusted that this guy was raising roaches in my place. I had left a full bottle of boric acid under the kitchen counter and told him to re-apply it every 3 months but he said he didn't remember. Apparently, the roaches came as part of his luggage (checked in and carried on). He never mentioned to me that roaches had taken over the place ( I guess he had a close relationship with them so it didn't bother him). I called in pest control immediately and ran him out of my condo as quickly as possible.... of course he left his baggages but they were severely damaged by then. After about two months of aggressive cleaning and monitoring and using my boric acid, they finally became null and void! The process is to mix the boric acid with a sweet syrup like pancake syrup until it forms a paste, then use a knife or small stick to put it in various places. Every crack and cranny, in kitchen drawers, cupboards, behind stove and fridge, etc. If you have pets, be careful where you place it. I personally use condensed milk to make my paste. It will harden after a while, but the roaches will go nibble on it and take it into their squatters paradise to feed on. In due time, you will find dried out roach carcasses all over the place! It's not immediate, but it's long-lasting.

Jesus what a nightmare that must have been for you....😰 Im almost a year into my apartment lease and neighbor downstairs has become the source for roaches and all of their roaches are coming through the cracked caulking in my apartment. My husband made sure to apply caulking to every corner of our apartment but still they are now coming through the kitchen sink and bathroom sink... German roaches sure are aggressive house invaders alright. My manager will be assigning pest control services to our unit and surrounding neighbors. Maybe i will try the boric acid paste just to make sure none of my neighbors roaches try invading our apartment.

@@bdsk4185 clearly you know nothing. Roaches can still come in your house whether it's clean or not. If you have some source of water somewhere that they can reach and a dark cool space. Then obviously you have them. I've seen them even in the nicest cleanest homes. Most of y'all just don't realize that they're nocturnal and they hide in the walls and come out at night. 😂 It don't matter if your house is clean or not if you have the right sources for them then you have them in your walls. They can go months without food. The best part about it is you don't have to have food out either if they're in your walls just as long as they have a water source and a place to stay, they feed off their own feces and they eat each other especially the dead ones. It's their source of protein 😂They also eat cardboard, glue etc. they are extremely hard to get rid of.

What I want to know, and can’t seem to find is: does the smell of another person’s belongings bring them out of hiding? For instance, I moved in to a place, I seen a few, I did what I had to do to get rid of them, someone rented a room from me, they came out and then went back into hiding, then a friend asked if she could keep some things at my house, now I see more.. they used to only be on the floor under my refrigerator.. now they’re all over my kitchen and in my bathroom, too. Idk what to do. They’re disgusting.
@briann55248 ай бұрын
Could just be a timing thing. As they breed more over time you will see more. Also moving stuff around can make them more visible.
@rachel36822 ай бұрын
No. If you have a water source you don't know about and a cool dark space you have them in your walls. You don't have to have food for them to come out. They can go months without eating just as long as they have a water source and a nice place to stay. But the main source of protein is their own feces and eating each other. They produce like no other. Just as long as they have water they will survive. And just as long as they're producing more and more they can survive by their own fecal matter and bodies. They are extremely hard to get rid of once you even see one roach. You can tell the males and females apart. The males look like they have antennas on their butts while the female don't. It don't matter if it's a drop of water or a wet wipe. They can survive off of any liquid.

Buy yourself a steam cleaner and use it instead of nasty chemicals. Make sure all food is safely stored in plastic containers if it’s been opened. Check the corners of cupboards for gaps and maybe get them sealed up with something like clear bathroom sealant as that will be a physical barrier. If you find a roach then you can be sure there will be others lurking too. In short you need to sort your hygiene as the chances are stuff like food crumbs is enough to attract them. A mild bleach solution is enough to kill them so any you get can be left in there and at the end of the week they can be disposed of down the lavatory, rinse the bucket and make a new solution and have that ready. You can make do with basic beach as it is not necessary for it to be concentrated. As best as you can go around each room and inspect for gaps as that’s how they seem to get in most of the time. A good bright light should help to locate any gaps and that might require a professional to fill in a few gaps, bathroom sealant is fairly easy to find and most folk can do a decent job with it, be careful about using expanding foam as it might not be ideal in some circumstances. Avoid using chemicals if you have pets and small children too. It can take a while to get rid of them but it is worth it in the end.
