*Whew this video blew up right now. For those of you that don't know me, I make travel vlogs about places I've been to. I went on the stone mountain state park website and talked about their attractions because it was one of the first places I got comfortable enough to vlog in that was close to the place I used to live (which is what you are told to do when you begin travel vlogging). This was made over a year ago. I don't live there anymore. This video is only about the attractions and not its history. Enjoy this quick guide to Stone Moutain*

Great video! I've lived in the Atlanta area my whole life and live only about 6 miles from Stone Mountain in Tucker. My second job was at Stone Mountain Park back in 1978. I worked in the sandwich shop in front of the carving. So, I've been to Stone Mountain hundreds of times. The only times I won't go there is on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day - too much traffic and too many people. I prefer to go on off days during the week. It's much more relaxing that way. I'm going to the park tomorrow with my new GoPro Hero 9 Black and Zhiyun Crane M2 gimbal to learn more about both. I hope I can get some footage that is half as good as yours. Well done!

I also live in Tucker and I love the mountain! Any obscure hiking activities on the actual mountain you would recommend?

You did a great job on this video. I love this park as well, been to it a hundred times. Don't even worry about trolls trying to drag you into an argument, you seem like a girl who loves life and makes the most of wherever you are and politics shouldn't even be a part of it. Just tune out the noise and keep loving life.

I loved stone mountain as a kid. I went there 100s of times. I grew up there in the 80s and 90s but i had to move bc the crime got really bad, but im glad to see that the park is still good. I hope the surrounding city has gotten better. Memorial Drive by Hambrick Road turned into a crime ridden ghost town. It was super sad.

I've caught the MARTA & walked from Stone Mountain Village, bypassing parking. My goal this year is to hike the Mountain & walk the Trail Loop.

Most informative intro, I have a few questions if you don't mind: are the Crossroads and the Historic Square worth it? are they a time portal experience or tourist traps in your opinion? Also if you walk the Hike Up Trail and ride down the Skyride, is there a shuttle to take you back to your car?
@ASightToSee
@ASightToSee 2 жыл бұрын
I'd say it'd be worth it depending on what you're looking for out of the day. I would go here by myself to relax and walk around so I wouldn't say its worth it to do it alone but if I was with my family and younger cousins it would definitely be worth it to get a whole day of activities out of. And I don't remember there ever being a shuttle but I can't say I was really looking for one. I see on their website it states 'Shuttles will not be available in 2022.' but Im not sure if that means they used to have them between lots. That walk is pretty flat though if you take the road!

I was in the area over the weekend and went to the park to check it out. I noticed between the museum and cable car there is an empty pedestal where I suppose a monument used to be and the plaques were removed. Do you know what was there? I tried googling it (which is how I found this video) but all I see is stuff about the rock carving.

What's the point of even visiting if you "need" to know everything before you go? The whole point of going to New places is to explore and experience
@ASightToSee

Thats why I explained everything but didn't run through every activity. Its good to know whats offered, how much things cost, what type of clothing to wear, ect before you get to a place. The first time I went, I thought it was just hiking and I didn't bring any extra money. I didn't know how much time I would need to see it all. So I made this guide so people didn't waste their money on the parking pass without knowing how much else there is. There are people who like to explore blindly, and thats great! And then there are people who like to know what they can before they visit a place to know what to expect. There is no 'right' way to do it, just what is right for you :)

How sad of a person I would be if I lived to please others and not myself.. maybe take some time to think about that before suggesting what others do in the future. I find it very strange and uncomfortable for you to comment on my body when this video is about travel... I wilI do what ever I want to my body because it is mine to do what I want with :) have a good one!

@@ASightToSee - I support your right to express yourself any way you want. And I support @CheckThisOut77's right to express him/herself any way they want. Speech is only free when it's free for everybody. And that means sometimes other people might say something that hurts our snowflake sensibilities. Recall that whenever there is art, whether that be tattoos or giant monuments to racism carved by the KKK, there are art critics. That's because people have different tastes in art.
