In this video I install a manual quick hitch on my bobcat E20 mini excavator. This combined with the new buckets will allow me to change tasks quickly.

Just my two cents on the ASV. I had the ASV PT30. Wanted more just like you. Went and had my local ASV, CAT, and Kubota dealer bring demos out. We had ASV rt50, ASV rt65max, kubota 65, and a cat 249D. I loved the max but was limited in how much we were able to use it as we do a lot of work on “existing yards” walls, patios, fine grading, and hardscaping. I found the heavy chassis on all males were just too much for existing lawns. They can’t handle it without extensive use of plywood and even then the weights are just to much when ground is damp or worse wet. Even the ASV. The kubota seemed lacking in comfort for sure. Cat was probably the best in cab and interior but super super heavy. Wouldn’t be carrying it in the dump trailer for sure. The asv50 seemed to be the best fit however 5’2” wide prettt much makes gates an issue and yes you can remove fence panels and such but then I asked…how much time are we really saving if we’re moving lord bulk but removing and installing fence panels. Not sure if that’s an issue with you. But half our jobs have fences. ASV dealer called me last minute and said he had an rt40 with can that showed up. We had it 3 days and I locked the deal down. Same dimensions as the RT25 but faster, smoother, has ac and heat, has twice the tipping rating and I can tell you it changes everything in working with heavy boulders and blocks which I see you do a lot of too. It was certainly the best choice and we’re able to maintain the light footprint and work in existing lawns. My two cents but I’d get a demo on one and see what you think. I think you’d be very surprised.

I ordered from them and they came FedEx air. I was happy with the quality for lite duty commercial work. You will lose some leverage (power) because of the Quick coupler. The versatility is worth the loss of power when curling the bucket. I use my 9" bucket with the teeth off when digging irrigation lines to minimize damages around valves and wires. Happy Digging!

I am a case guy but when I wanted to upgrade to a larger skid steer I was looking at a case tr310b and a asv max something. The asv noise level was way louder than the case ctl and one of the features of the case was that it come with either iso or “H “ controls. I bought the case.

I got the quick hitch, a 24 inch digging and 6 inch digging from them about 2 years ago. Vary well built, holding up great. I got a grading bucket from bobcat, want to get the skeleton bucket and a 12 inch but they have gone up to much in price this year.

MAN this video was awesome! You need to do more videos like this buddy, much more in depth and personal people really like this kinda stuff. Thanks a bunch for showing us all your great new accessories for your e20 you really have an arsenal of buckets at your disposal now. I really think this is the excavator im gonna be going with.. Right now Bobcat is one of the only manufacturers offering a least to own plan for their excavators and if you do this I was told by my local rep that I would save like 8k off the top which is insane.. He told me he could get me the E20 with 3 buckets and a thumb for 27k IF I use my DBA for the account which ill prolly end up doing.. I'm really excited only issue is there is a huge shortage of equipment right now as you prolly know and the soonest I can get one is 90 days after I finally decide to go ahead and buy one. I'm really excited tho and really thinking the E20 is what I'm gonna go with because its a great machine and its a great savings on a brand new unit specially with 3 buckets and a thumb. Let me know what you think buddy and keep up the great work as always!
@triplesticks

That sounds like a pretty good deal. That’s less than I payed for mine. Waiting 90 days does not seam to bad to me I had ordered a ASV RT65 in March and they said that it would be August before I would see it. So I went to bobcat instead. And they got me a T590 and some attachments in about 70 days.

So since the quick hitch adds a bit of length between the bucket and the arm, do you notice your thumb doesn't grab at the same points anymore? I just got a geith quick hitch and i knew it would affect my thumb placement, but im wondering if I just deal with it, lengthen my thumb, or something else.

My quick coupler came in today. I asked them to modify it after seeing your video but someway things always find a way of slipping through the cracks. I ended up cutting the outer boss like you did. The tolerance of the pin in the there is tight but I need to find a long term solution. Did you drill those holes out to drive a small bolt through it, tack weld or find a king pin? The concept is fantastic though 2 min bucket change outs vs 15-20 min and a few f bombs
@triplesticks
@triplesticks Жыл бұрын
Mine is a pretty tight fit as well. If you keep it greased it stays in place. If I’m doing some thing where I’m cycling the thumb a lot it walks out a little bit but you can tap it back in with a rubber hammer.

Hey man. I think it's not right to cut that bushing with a saw like that. I don't think so you did make a straight cut. Even with washers, the distribution of load around the bushings will eat something up around that area. My advise is to take the bucket to a machine shop to make a smooth cut or at least use a grinder to make sure the cut is perfect with a smooth finish.
@triplesticks
@triplesticks 3 жыл бұрын
I mean I guess I could have touched it up with a grinder and smooth it out. but I did not really see any need for that. So fare I haven’t had any trouble with it and it’s been on the machine for about 50 hours. However I’ll take a look at it next time I take it apart.
