Quick How To: Tesla Model 3 and Model Y Front Camera and Windshield Cleaning - Fix Blurry Hazy Video

Model Y owners will need to remove a T20 Torx bolt that retains the mirror to the mount
Is your Tesla dash cam video blurry or hazy? Sentry mode video looking rough? Chances are, the glass between the cameras and the windshield has a film of deposits on it. In this video I'll show you how to remove the front facing camera trims to access the glass for cleaning.
You'll need:
Plastic trim tools or spudgers like these: amzn.to/3vvMCJa
Torx T10 driver: amzn.to/3GcBuWq
Glass cleaning substance of your choice as well as clean lint-free towels

Great video, I need to do this after I had my window tinted, the guy that did it left the glass in front of the camera a little dirty. I have a 2023 Model Y. What year is the one in this video?

Thank you, this is a 2018 Model 3 but I believe it’s similar on a Model Y, the only difference is the mirror may not twist off, it has a bolt that retains it. This is a T20 Torx, and the recommended installation torque is 2.5 Nm or 1.8 ft-lbs.

That looks like a TR20 screwdriver, not TR10. Might want to add a correction. 😁

The lower camera housing is a T10 for sure, you can see it at @3:59 Model Y owners will need to remove a single T20 that holds the mirror to the mount.
