Anxious to see results of glaze combinations used before. My notes should accurately repeat previous work. Glazed from 3 companies play very well together. #opulenceglazes #maycoglazes #amacoglazes #habdmadepottery

Love it when the kiln gods work with us in a positive direction. Especially when we really put ourselves out there. Those are truly amazing pieces. You are not too verbose. Everything you say makes sense and follows your thought process and explanation of how you got there. You are able to be followed easily and not boring! And for me I am learning with each piece. Thank you for all you do. So glad to have you back again. You were missed!

Thank you for your kind words and positive feedback. There is no sense doing these videos if you don’t fully put yourself out there. I am happy to share my techniques.

Thanks, we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Jamaica but the island is swamped with visitors escaping for a few days.

WOWOWOW your pots are just amazing!! Love the lamps! Soo happy that your kiln is firing so well for you! I get a cone 7 on the bottom of mine and a 5 1/2 on the top. I put BMix on the bottom and have never had bloating. It did get to a cone 8 1/2 on the bottom and every piece bloated. My gosh I just can’t get over your lamps!!! Great idea to wax the entire thing to get the white glaze inside. Well I just have to say that you have won me over with the opulence glazes!! I will definitely be getting some more! Your glazes are absolutely beautiful. May I ask if they do well at cone 6? You mentioned they love cone 5!
@SallyRoperPottery9 ай бұрын
Opulence reduction look glazes (600 series) love cone 6 with a slow cool. I used to fire only to ^6 but last few years dropped to 5 1/2. I think these last few firings have convinced me to go to 2188 with 13 min hold , perfect 6. As for your kiln, call the manufacturer and see if they can help correct your imbalance. Maybe new elements?.

@@SallyRoperPottery I have a manual kiln and it’s always been like this. It’s not a huge problem since I know about it.

Beautiful work and congrats on the successful lamps. Question about the designer liner at the end -- was it applied over or under the white glaze?? It really shows nicely - no bleeding/fuzzing/running.
@SallyRoperPottery9 ай бұрын
It was added on bisque ware and then mug dipped in Opulence Ultra White.

I have a question for you. I use the Laguna 391 but my pieces don't come out smooth like yours. How do. you get them so smooth? And are they smooth inside too? Second comment - when I took the clay up to Cone 6 it bloated on me so I just go to Cone 5 with a 12 minute hold. My cone pack shows I get to about 5.5 which still works. Have you had any bloating problem with your 391? Keep up the great stuff Sally. I love to watch your videos from kiln openings as well as instructional one.
@SallyRoperPottery9 ай бұрын
Hi Susan. I normally fire 391 to 5 1/2 but this one went to 6 and thankfully, did not bloat. As for the smoothness, it is important to burnish clay after trimming, I use a metal rib.

@@SallyRoperPottery Thanks for that. I figured you did. I will make a point of doing that to used up the rest of my batch. I have 20 pounds left and am not likely going to reorder. It makes such a mess of things. I am using more of the PSH speckled clay and their warm brown clay. It's close by for me to pick up, when it's not out of stock!!
