Very comprehensive! Thanks so much for putting this together. Love the fact that we’re getting some amazing lenses and lighting in a budget range which is more affordable for solo owner/operators. Keen to see more affordable full frame anamorphic options hit the market in the years to come. But I also agree Samyang seem to have gone in the wrong direction with their latest line of lenses!

I find it odd that Samyang/Xeen are moving in the opposite direction of the rest of the market. Their old lenses were the first to fill a market void, but they compromised a lot to get there. They were a great budget option at the time. Today there are so many arguably better lenses in the budget arena, but Samyang still remains among the least expensive still giving them a portion of that market. That said, in my opinion, they would have to get A LOT of issues their older lenses suffered from fixed to demand the prices they are asking for these new lenses, and, up till now, have yet to demonstrated the ability to do so. I have major doubts about these new lenses, and I'm betting I'm not alone; however, I am quite curious to see how they preform, and if they do preform better than previous models then good for them; however, even if they do preform better, they are going to likely going to have a difficult time overcoming their brand stigma on productions that can easily afford to use other more reputable and optically well liked lenses at this price point.

The video that Jake showed of it midway through does....not inspire confidence. Frankly, even if it did, I think they'd _have_ to price lower than Cooke and Tokina to justify it - I can't imagine a rental house or studio approving these at the same price as their competitors. I think it's dead in the water if they insist in that price point. It seems like a lot of hubris.

Here's a wacky update.... Rhino CANCELLED the kickstarter for the Rhino Dolly. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like a bit of an odd move

what a disappointment that xeen anamorphic is, would have to be cheaper than the atlas to have a chance in the market. who would choose xeen over cooke
